Anybody else still watch it once in a while?
As a Bret Hart fan, the biography aspect alone appealed to me, but to think it culminates at Survivor Series '97 is just crazy. It gave the documentary a legitimate ending which made it all seem pretty unreal.
I still have the VHS and I know it occasionally plays on A&E every now and again. Definitely one of my favorites.

It just seems fishy how they were doing it at that exact time and the entire documentary built up to that one night, and just happened to be "secretly" recording when his wife was yelling at everyone and when him and Shawn were talking to each other.

Definitely my favorite documentary on wrestling. Haven't seen it in a few years, but I'll rectify that pretty soon.

I don't think it was a work, but I do think Bret knew something was going to happen. He knew Shawn was trying to get rid of him and had Vince in his back pocket. When Bret signed with WCW he knew Shawn and Vince were not going to let him go to the competitor without embarrassing him.

It just so happened that it was a good way to end the documentary. They were filming him for months before it happened. Bret definitely knew that they might try something. He asked Earl Hebner if he could trust him and Earl swore on his kid's life that Bret could trust him. Vader and Neidhart were backstage warning Bret that not to stay down for pins too long and to be especially weary of submissions.

never heard Neidharts name mentioned in association with warning Bret.not saying he didnt.
Vader,Bulldog and The Road Warriors all warned him because they had seen this happen in Japan.

I've read so much about it that I couldn't tell you where I read it, I could be wrong but those are the two names I remember warning him. I suppose different places have slight alterations on what happened so either could be right.

yeah totally not saying he didnt man-they were close friends & he probably did tell him to watch his back.but In know the other 4 defo did because of their Japanese expiriences.
he got the sternest warning from Vader.from all the shoots I have watched this seems to be consistent.vader was actually on a card where a screwjob submission was used.....and when Owen told him what the finish was to be in the catering hall he went straight to see Bret.
