Interesting how Lightweights think they could just drop down a weight and become the #1 contender.

Cerrone never wanted to drop to 145 to fight Aldo. He wanted to go to 145 to fight Cole Miller.

LOL at linking something from 2009. Cerrone won the fight and never called out Aldo.

The most recent talk from him going to 145 was several months ago and said he'd only go down to fight Cole Miller.

Aldo/Showtime would be fantastic but I think the bouts at lightweight for Showtime are even better. I really want to see Bendo/Showtime 2 and Melendez/Showtime is also a great match-up, I don't really expect we'll see Pettis drop down if we can see those fights at Lightweight

I think Pettis/Aldo would be interesting. I'm guessing Pettis thinks he'd get an immediate title shot at Aldo, rather than waiting it out for Henderson/Melendez. I think he should just stay at 155 though. There are guys like the Korean Zombie and Lamas who should be ahead of him at 145 for a title shot. That and I want to see Henderson/Pettis II.

Interesting how Lightweights think they could just drop down a weight and become the #1 contender. I see no problem with this when your next in line for the shot after Bendo/Gilbert. Maybe he doesn't feel like waiting. This makes a lot more sense than Edgar losing back-to-back title fights and then getting the shot at Aldo.
