Fair assessment guys, thanks for the input but what about my follow-up question? . as I said in my 1st post their time with Vince is what cemented their legacy in my book.most people still call them LOD......I never do.they will always be The Road Warriors to me BUT the fact that they were LOD in WWF means most people think of them as LOD. its how they got MOST of their international exposure.most European fans may not have heard of them if it wasnt for Vince yknow? but when you look at it they did sweet FA in WWF so it didnt effect their legacy, nearly everyone thinks fondly of them because of their AWA/NWA/Japan stuff. so yeah they would still be revered.

I agree with Joker on this, my first and definately most often exposure of "LOD" is from WWF. When I think of them I think of LOD and not Road Warriors.
I think they would be the biggest tag team to never work for WWF/E but I believe more people wouldnt rank them as their #1 team.

I think they would have been considered legends whether they had came into the WWF or not. But I remember when they came into the WWF and there were people who did not watch NWA or Japan stuff, did not know who they were and thought they were demo rip offs.

I also loved to see real wrestling fans laugh at these people uncontrollably for being so in the dark and Nieve.

This is where loyalty bites people in the ass. My first exposure was from their match against Kane/Rvd in 03.

I would say yes, as I'd put them on the same level as somebody like Sting.

I find it a joke people look at Sting and hold it againt him cause he never lowered himself to work for McMahon. Sting is sone of the greatest ever. LOD is the same. One of the best tag teams ever w/ or w/out their WWE run. My thoughts exactly. The Roadwarriors could have retired before they ever went to the WWF and still be legendary...or icons. They were also known as The Legion of Doom in the NWA/wCw with Paul Ellering. Early on Jake Roberts was also apart of that stable. I love watching the older stuff on YouTube. Especially Georgia Championship Wrestling.
