The Contenders Tournament Begins!
In the past week the WFWF has gone under a bit of upheaval with many stars leaving and even more turning up. One of those that left was the former number one contender to the WFWF World Championship, which means we need a new challenger. What better way to do that than to give every single person signed to a contract a chance to get the next title shot (seriously, we even tried to get the cameraman involved but he was too scared of Schneider to participate). This week every match will be part of the contenders tournament. The winner of every match this week will enter into a battle royal on the next edition of Revolution. The winner of that will get the ultimate prize (or punishment if you think about it that way), a WFWF Championship match with Phillip Schneider in four weeks’ time at the pay per view.
The Main Event!
Phillip Schneider vs. Mak Cross
Mak Cross is on fire right now. Two weeks ago he got the ultimate revenge on Ace Bennett, not only defeating him but putting him out of action while last week he did the very same thing to Daniel Sabat. Now he faces the one man who prides himself on the long list of talent that he has put on the injured list, the man who last week introduced us all to his carnival of horror, the WFWF World Champion Phillip Schneider. For Mak Cross it looks to be a big challenge, but with a big challenge comes a big reward. If Mak Cross wins he skips next week’s number one contender’s battle royal and immediately books himself a spot in the World Championship match at the pay per view, but if he loses then he will have no place in next week’s battle royal. It’s all or nothing and if Phillip Schneider gets his way, there’ll be nothing left of Mak Cross by the end of Revolution.
Two Spots For The Price Of One
Trace Demon & Yukio Blaze vs. Braden Munroe & Tabitha Owens
Trace Demon and Yukio Blaze don’t like each other, there’s no secret behind that. But after the revelation that Trace Demon slept with Yukio Blaze’s wife before Yukio met her Xavier Pierce had a ‘good’ idea, to put them together in a tag team match with two spots in the contenders battle royal on the line. His reason? If they can share a woman then they can share a team, classy Xavier, classy. Their opponents, none other than Braden Munroe and Tabitha Owens. Returning from their top secret headquarters to the WFWF just in time to get an opportunity to win something that neither of them have ever done – the WFWF World Championship. Will they be able to capitalise on the lack of unity between their opponents, or will Trace Demon & Yukio Blaze prove that Yukio’s wife isn’t the only thing they have in common?
Return Of A Legend
ZMaster vs. Ripp Jackson
Ever since Ripp Jackson had his job saved thanks to Mak Cross Xavier Pierce has had it out for the young star. Now while he couldn’t stop Ripp being involved in the contender’s tournament he could give him one hell of a difficult opponent and guess what? That’s exactly what he did. ZMaster, a WFWF Hall of Famer and one of only five WFWF Grand Slam Champions, has returned to the WFWF and he’s made it his mission to take it back to the great heights that it once saw (hey, we take that as an insult you know). There’s so many variables in this match that it’s just impossible to call. Is it possible for ZMaster to return and jump straight back to the level of talent that he once displayed or can Ripp Jackson capitalise on any potential ring rust? Only one way to find out.
WFWF National Championship Match
Joe Bishop (c) vs. Leo Krause
Last week Joe Bishop successfully defended the WFWF National Championship against Raiden Takahashi but got a rude awakening when Reckless left him laid out and made his intentions perfectly clear – he’s going to teach Bishop to show him some respect. With that in the back of his mind Joe Bishop has another challenge this week as he sets out to defend his title once again, this time against Leo Krause. Last week Krause came out on top against three other men to gain this title shot and he’ll be looking to keep up that success (if he loses it who knows when he’ll find it again) by becoming the new National Championship. Can Joe Bishop retain? Will Leo Krause win his first title here in the WFWF? Will Reckless make an appearance? Can we get through this show without losing half of our roster? So many questions, let’s hope this match answers at least three out of the four.
Singles Action
Tommy Staxx vs. Cameron Stone
It’s been an eventful first couple of weeks for Tommy Staxx here in the WFWF. First he got a WFWF World Championship match in his debut (yes, that happened) and then he got run over by David Brennan. Now he has an opponent who might be a little more his level, just don’t tell him that. Cameron Stone has made it clear that he considers himself the true National Champion and after a loss to Trace Demon last week he’ll be looking to prove himself all over again. Two young stars, both with the opportunity to get one step closer to the WFWF World Championship and the only person that stands in their way is each other. Let the games begin!
All Female Singles Action
Valorie Evans vs. Scarlett Quinn
She’s alive! Scarlett Quinn walked into Revolution last week and faced off with the toughest son of a b***h that the WFWF has in Phillip Schneider and despite receiving a beating she’s come back stronger (possibly) and more determined (definitely) than ever before. Enter the returning Valorie Evans. Already known as a former WFWF National Champion Valorie returns after a lengthy absence with the intention of scaling to new heights, and what’s higher than the World Championship? It’s an all-women’s match (we promise we’re not sexist, that’s just the way it happened) between True Love’s Avenger and the student of Trace Demon (she really needs a proper nickname) and only one of them can walk away the victor. This one should be sexy… we mean competitive, yeah, that’s definitely what we mean.
More Singles Action
Cam Nitta vs. Justin Tyme
Justin Tyme is back. The former WFWF International and Tag Team Champion has returned to the WFWF with only one thing on his mind – the WFWF World Championship. Luckily for him he’s already getting an opportunity to grab himself a title match with the contenders tournament. First of all he has to contend with Cam Nitta who last week was meant to take part in a tag team match that… well, it just didn’t seem to happen, unless we blinked and missed it. Anyway, he’s back this week and he’s got himself a big time opponent and a big time opportunity. One of these men will have the opportunity to realize their dreams, the other will just be a footnote. Which one’s which? Well if we knew the future then we wouldn’t be here, would we, we’d be winning the lottery. Use your heads people.
Opening Match
Carter Contra vs. DevilKiller vs. Mickey Donovan
Three men, one spot in the WFWF contender battle royal next week and three very promising competitors. Carter Contra, the returning video game nut, the ominously named DevilKiller who picked up a victory in his debut last week and lastly Mickey Donovan, a complete newcomer to the WFWF. One of these men will take the ultimate step up, the other two will remain at the bottom of the card. No pressure guys.
