It makes me angry when ppl say "get stern" with retail employees. As a retail manager I take offense to that. I personally am waaaaay more willing to help a customer out anyway I can if they are nice to me rather than come off confrontational right from the start.

Yeah i've done this before. They gave me grief saying "oh that was a previous sale, we've now changed it" but seriously, if you buy something expecting a better price, definitely stamp your foot down to get that price.

"Stamp your foot down" come on now, a lot of ppl seem to think hat they can demand or treat ppl in retail like crap because they can. I once had a young girl call me an bunghole because she didint like the answer I have her to a question she had. She would have never talked to me like that outside the store

Another time someone said that if I didint give them 10 dollars off a product because he said so that he was going to slap me in the face. I that right!? Needless to say I told him that if he slapped me in he face he would not be leaving the store on his own 2 feet...he paid what was the product was marked, apologized and left

Yeah, these "kids" need to understand how a business works. These are the same customers that feel "If it weren't for me, this place would be out of business. They should be kissing my feet!" (Lawler reference)
Newsflash: If you don't buy it at the $19.99, someone else will. Now, if it's a pricing issue, like this story, then yes it should be given at the correct price. If it's what the computer and management say it is... either pay the amount, or you walk your ass back to the section, put it back and walk out the door. Hate customers that try getting product discounted, just to save $4-5.

I work Guest Service at Target and get that all the time and as much I would like to be self-righteous about a lot of things I know the truth of it all is "If you don't buy someone else will".
