Kenta Kobashi Announces Retirement
According to The Wrestling Observer, Japanese pro wrestling legend Kenta Kobashi announced his retirement at the Pro Wrestling NOAH event at the Sumo Hall in Tokyo on Sunday. Kobashi noted that he would like to wrestle one final match, and that he has not been forced to retire, he is choosing to do so.

What a legend, Kobashi was one of the many greats that got me into Japan, ROH etc.

Aren't a bunch of NOAH guys leaving right about now? Sad to see I guess.

Sad news, Kobashi is great. His match with Joe in ROH remains one of the greatest in company history.

Kobashi is one of, if not the main guy who got me interested in Puro. He truly is a legend, & even if he doesn't have one more match like he said he might, I'm ok with that. I'm glad he's going out on his terms & not for health reasons.

I could have sworn he retired a couple years ago. :/

He probably should have called it quits after the tag match where he returned from beating cancer. I would say this would hurt NOAH some but they are practically dead anyway.

He wasn't the same when he came back from cancer. It's true he should have retired after that tag match.

Good on him for retiring and saving his body from further potential injury.
My favourite Japanese wrestler, bar none.
