Every year starting in mid Nov 90% of what I purchase get's put away for Christmas...So other than the TRU WM HHH vs Taker set and two DVD's (NWO & Attitude Era) this will be sitting under the tree Christmas morning. And luckily my in-Laws ate dinner with us today so my wife gave me the HD TV that was supposed to be for Christmas. Mainly becuase it has been sitting in the kitchen near the table since the Monday after black Friday and was in the way. So after I hooked the PS3 up to it I put in my Dark Knight Rises Blu Ray...And all I can say is man I've been missing out for years I thought our old TV's picture was pretty clear but D@MN the movie looked 100 X better this time! Now I am going to have to watch the first two on this TV real soon.

Congrats on the pick-ups and the new TV! Sounds like a great night, even if you did have to put up with the in-laws for a bit.

That's a heck of a haul! I agree, the Batman Trilogy is amazing in blu ray on a nice TV. Ive got a 46" Samsung 1080p. I love it!

Some awesome figures in there, PJ! What do you plan to do with the second ABA Taker? Custom?

Wait -- what's the point of putting them under the tree if you know what you're getting? That confuses me.

Awesome pickups-Are you planning on picking up the other 2 BOPPV figures so you can build John L? Or does that not matter to you. I know you're picky when it comes to guys you will and won't buy, that's why I'm asking.
Let me ask you this too PJ. A few months back I picked up Batman Begins & The Dark Knight steel book blu-rays at Best Buy as they were on sale for $9.99 each. So when TDKR came out, I picked up that steelbook blu ray as well. Would you recommend me watching them in order of how they came out, or can I skip ahead to TDKR then go back and watch the other two? LMK, thanks bud and happy holidays to you.

Congrats on the pick-ups and the new TV! Sounds like a great night, even if you did have to put up with the in-laws for a bit. lol. Actually I spent the night in the bedroom watching the TV. So it was a win/win! lol But seriously while I did spend the night in the bedroom watching the DKR my in-laws are pretty cool. That's a heck of a haul! I agree, the Batman Trilogy is amazing in blu ray on a nice TV. Ive got a 46" Samsung 1080p. I love it! We have a 40" TV in the living room, but it's not HD...Along with a small 15" (?) HD TV in our daughter's room. This new one is 32" but I hooked it up in the bedroom as that's where my PS3 is. My wife tried talking me out of the 32" but I pushed for it saying it was just as much as the smaller ones she wanted to get for the bedroom. (she thought the old 18" TV was too big for the bedroom as well) lol Some awesome figures in there, PJ! What do you plan to do with the second ABA Taker? Custom? One will be for the Legends display and the other will be fixed up and probably displayed at the computer table. Wait -- what's the point of putting them under the tree if you know what you're getting? That confuses me. Once it get's closer to the holiday's (Around Thanksgiving) my wife always wants me to save everything I purchase for Christmas because I am buying thigs for myself all year so I should save some of it for the holiday and not just open it because it was a Monday and I bought it. Which I can understand. There's plenty of DC figures packed away as well, but she does have a couple surprise gifts for me as well.

I'd watch both before TDKR. They're great movies that I'd watch over and over again, so it's worth it.

He wasn't someone who I felt I had to have. I do like the Sheamus seeing he's not in black, but I'm not sure if I want/need another Elite of him and I really don't want to get a Cena. Maybe if they have a sale when I find another Christian I'll get them. When I picked these two up yesterday I was just thinking if worse came to worse and I wanted a Big Johnny I'd just put his head on an extra COO Triple H body. Plus I have an extra Ricardo torso, arms & legs...So I can always use that torso and just pop off the bow tie and make him "casual". As for the Batman Trilogy Seeing Nivro's post yesterday was the first time I ever heard of the Steelbooks. So I'll have to look into those even though I have all 3 as DVD & Blu Rays already. lol I'd watch them in order of their release seeing each movie takes place after the last in the story. Speaking of Batman what seemed to be my white whale for the last 4 months is finally mine! (well on Christmas morning anyway! lol) I've been hitting 5 TRU's a few times a week searching for the DCUC Batman Vs Azrael 2-Pack for ages now. (since Elite Serie 15 was first hitting RSC) without any luck. Then 3 weeks ago I found the second set in the wave (Hal Jordan & Kyle Rayner) at the Rt17 TRU. But there were no others in stock...Then Monday while buying a few items for my wife & daughter on Amazon I saw it was being sold through a secondary seller for $37 which is what TRU raised their price to a few weeks ago...so I ordered it. Fast forward to today my tracking said the amazon order was arriving today...So what do I see at the Rt17 Paramus TRU this morning? THREE of them. lol So I picked the best painted one and will now have 2 sets under the tree. Which is fine as I wanted 2 of this set anyway. And my Amazon set just arrived and the box was damaged, but the figures are still good.

PJ, I was a long time holdout on Blu-Rays too, but now I swear by 'em, especially since you can get some great movies for as cheap as $5 these days. I won't start talking you up on 3D just yet though. ;-)
I do the same with my figures too. Trying to decide how many I will put under the tree this year now.

Nice haul bro, Merry Christmas to you!
Not only do blu rays have a better picture, I feel the sound is better too. It's like you have a Bose Surround sound, even if you don't. I have a feeling DKR blu ray will be in my stocking. I didn't know about these steelbooks until a couple of days ago. I have all 3 on Blu ray, not the trilogy, bought separately. Now I kinda want these. They look pretty sweet.
As for knowing almost everything you're getting under the tree, I'm the same way. That is part of being an adult. You get to pick out exactly what ya want sometimes.

I'm not sure if I'd like 3D because you have to wear 3D glasses right? Since I got the PS3 a few years ago I find if I'm buying a movie that is for me I tend to get the Blu-Ray combo packs. but if it's for my wife or daughter I usually just get the regular DVD although I did get the last 2 Harry Potter's as the combo packs...but my wife always said it was a waste. (I bet I'll be buying her her Twilights films on Blu-Ray now. lol) I don't have many Blu-Ray's but after watching the DKR on the HD TV last night I can't wait to rewatch the ones I do have - Here's a list of the 24 Blu-Rays I do have - Batman Begins TDK DKR The Dark Knight Returns Batman Year One Justice League Doom Superman vs The Elite Green Lantern Avengers Captain America The Searchers Hondo The Cowboys The Green Berets The Big Trail A Fist Full of Dollars A Few Dollars More The Good, the Bad, the Ugly Heartbreak Ridge The Gauntlet The Gray The Adventures Robin Hood (Errol Flynn) Wizard of Oz Contraband Yes as for figures under the tree...I told my wife seeing 70% of the figures bagged up in the closet weren't on my Christmas list she can only wrap the stuff that was on my list and all open the rest after Christmas...But like every other year she is declining that offer and wrapping everything. (I'm always worried that I'll have more than our daughter. lol) But somehow it always about even in the end.

If it's an action, adventure, or just a movie that I know will look/sound sweet on blu ray, then that's what I get. But all my wife's chick flicks are on standard dvd.

You get to pick out exactly what ya want sometimes. Yes I hadn't known about those Steelbooks either until yesterday. But Now that I DO! I'll have to get them. lol I have the the 3 movies multiple times because I'd buy the Blu-Ray Combo...then I'd see some sort of store exclusive (Target Cowl disc case, Best Buy with a TDK Batman statue, Best Buy with a Batman Begins Cowl statue, A Batpod) Somehow I seem to have to have them all. So I have 2 of each Blu-Ray & DVD for each movie) And then when the DKR was up for preorder at WalMart I recieved an Email from my Mom saying "I'm sure you'll want this" Which usually means "I ordered this for you for Christmas" If it's an action, adventure, or just a movie that I know will look/sound sweet on blu ray, then that's what I get. But all my wife's chick flicks are on standard dvd. lol. That's pretty much how I am. Or if it's a movie I wanted to see but not one I was willing to go to a theater for I'll order it that morning On Demand watch and record it. And if I enjoyed it I'll go pick up the blu-ray set and give the disc I made to either my father-in-law or brother-in-law. The last one I did that for was the Expendables 2, but my brother-in-law passed away before he could watch it. I used to have a running joke with him saying he looked like Stallone. Years ago right after he and my sister were married I said to him "You know you look just like Stallone" and he got all excited right before I went on to say "Yeah from the eyes up" and cover the rest of his face with my hand. So that was a running joke with him for the last 26 years. When ever we'd see each other we'd put our hand up over the bottom half of our faces and say in our Stallone voices "Hey...Yo!"
