I was wondering if anyone here owns any Snap-On tools?

Nope. Sorry, I'm a Craftsman guy.
Snap-On does have some sweet looking tools, though.

Too expensive, but they have the nice tradeoff. Craftsman breaks too easily, and more easily, with every tool they outsource. We have a few shop-owned Snap-On tools - our OBD reader being the most particularly pricey one I can name off the top of my head. I keep clamoring for us to pick up a few load testers, but they insist we use the company ones. Garbage.

They do but instead of taking your tool back and getting a "new" one, you get a "refurbished" or remanufactured one. I personally dont have any snap on tools but Ive got quite a few accounts that use them. I personally use Craftsman and Gearwrench

At first I loved Snap on because of the guarantee, but then I had a tool break and I got a giant run around trying to replace it. I went up to a guy and he said I wasnt a customer on his route so he could not replace the tool for me. Luckily my brother owns a shop so I got my tool replaced through my brother. But still, WTF? They wont replace your tool if you didnt buy it from them?
Craftsman is great cause you can go to any sears and you get no run around.
Also Stanley guarantees there tools, you just have to mail it in.

I didn't know that Craftsman gives you a refurbished tool as a replacement. That sounds like a ripoff to me.

And in my experience, when they dont have a referbished tool instock they take one off the shelf.

Dad swore by Snap-On. When it came time to sell his things, his toolbox went for $15,000 (worth $20,000, but Mom sold them to my cousin directly so she didn't have to deal with auctioneer fees on that aspect).

My Granddad was a diesel mechanic, and he had snap on tools. When he passed, a step uncle went over there and got every thing. My mom never bothered with them. He said all the air tools and stuff were garbage, but the hand tools had to be good.
I just use Craftsman and Kobalt around the house. I have had to exchange a couple of Kobalt tools, but Lowes takes care of it.

And in my experience, when they dont have a referbished tool instock they take one off the shelf. That is true. Ive personally never had to take a tool back (yet) but my dad said that's what they do and if they dont have one you get a new one. As for Gearwrench, Im pretty sure Sears sells them, the only other place I know that sells them is Advance Auto Parts. Other Automotive places might but for obvious reasons, I dont go there. They as well have lifetime warranties and you *should* be able to take a broken one into any Advance and get it swapped out. I say *should* because there has been some managers that are dicks about it as well as some people that abuse it by constantly breaking stuff by using the wrong tool.

No but I did work in their factory for a week, filling their vending machines while their usual person was on vacation.

My Dad used to get Craftsman tools replaced for free many years ago. They once repaired his Adjustable wrench wrong.
