I'm a little confused by this diary. I mean what ARE the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats? What sport and league do they play in? Can you help those who aren't familiar with what sport your simming?

Yeah. Looks nice and everything, but a bit of background would be awesome.

Adam Slater leaving Wildcats for Burleigh Bears! The 20-year-old was a consistent figure in the Wildcats under 20s side in 2012 and with the changes to that competition this season it has been mutually agreed for him to move on.
The youngster gained experience by playing in the Rugby League Nines where he helped Trinity win the Plate but has immediately left the club to join the Bears on the Gold Coast.
Wildcats head coach Richard Agar explains Slater’s exit.
“We think Adam has come a long way since he joined us at the end of the 2011 season. Unfortunately he is one of the victims of the change in system in the game where we have a link-up with Doncaster and we are limited to the players that we can get out there, he’s not alone.
“After having a look around and speaking to Adam and his dad they have chosen to take the option to go out and play a full season in Australia which for his development will be great. As for anybody of his age that has been full-time for a year he wants to be playing and it would have been very difficult for us to find what we feel is the right level of football to develop him and being guaranteed regular football every week.
“It’s a shame in one respect that between us all we are having to make decisions like this but at the same time it is a fantastic opportunity as a rugby point of view as well as a lifestyle point of view for him to take up.
“We are certainly going to be keeping tabs on him to see how he gets on out there and we would never rule him out coming back to the club.
“The Queensland Cup is a tough competition, to go out and play first grade in that competition is a mark up from what he’s been playing in under 20s with us and at the moment there is a few too many players in front of him for spots in our back row to realistically say he’s going to get enough game time with us unless we have a stack of injuries so we had to make this decision.
“We wish him all the best and we will be keeping in touch with Burleigh to monitor his progress.”

Brad Singleton joins on-loan from Leeds Rhinos! The 20-year-old Cumbrian has today completed his first training session with the Wildcats ahead of the pre-season camp in Portugal next week. The front-rower has been brought in to add strength to the forward pack with the former England academy captain looking to break into Super League.
Singleton has made one Super League appearance in each of the last two seasons at Headingley Carnegie and spent nine games at Dewsbury in 2012 to gain some first team experience. The youngster captained his national side in 2011 where he played alongside fellow new recruits Bobbie Goulding and Reece Lyne.
The Barrow Island youth product featured against the Wildcats in the 40-26 Boxing Day victory and started at prop while scoring two tries against the team he has now joined on-loan.
Singleton has been handed the number 23 jersey and joins the former Leeds contingent at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium alongside fellow Cumbrian Kyle Amor, Ali Lauitiiti, Lee Smith and Richard Mathers. The ambitious prop is delighted to have joined Trinity.
“I’ve really enjoyed my first day and I think it’s a very good club from what I’ve seen so far,” said Singleton.
“I need to be playing Super League because that’s the next step of my career. I feel I’m ready and it’s what I need to do for my own career to progress.
“My time at Dewsbury was spot on and something I really benefited from. It was such a good experience to go out and play some first team rugby which is what I am striving to do.
“I wanted more games at the Rhinos but with the run we had I struggled to get in the side so that’s why I’m after more games in 2013.”
Singleton joined the current Super League champions from Barrow in 2009 and explains what his visions are for his time at Wakefield.
“We have a good forward pack here and it’s going to be a big challenge to get into the side but that’s my aim is to battle with some very good props.
“I know ‘Marra’ (Kyle Amor), he needs a haircut but there’s a few like Lee Smith, Ali Lauitiiti, Reece and Bobby so there’s a lot of familiar faces which makes it so much easier to slot into the group.
“The first day is important and it has been so much easier knowing a few people and now I need to get to know people and their names.”
Although the deal is initially a two-month loan, Singleton is open to staying longer should his time at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium be a success.
“All I need is Super League games whether it’s here or at Leeds and the only way I can get better is by playing regular first team rugby at the highest level.”
The Wildcats head coach Richard Agar is pleased to have strengthened his front-row options.
“We needed to bring in one more prop to add some depth to that area of our squad and we are happy we have been able to bring in Brad. He is a young lad with a very bright future and he will certainly bring competition for places and will complement our pack.
“He will be going to Portugal with the rest of the boys and he’s here for two-months so he has time to prove himself and I feel he will make an impact because he is a talented young forward.”
