I LOVE his story about How Vince rang him up and told him that jacobs and Bogner were gonna be the new Diesel and Razor and "just show them how to be like Hall & Nash" before Monday Oh LOL.....his reaction in the 97 shoot is awesome. His story about Bret and Shawn getting into it while King was taking a dump is hilarious

nope sorry........ Cornette is GREAT. and he wasnt out of touch with what people wanted in the AE either.that is a LUDICROUS assertion.watch his shoot on 97. The man single handedly saved the Kane/Undertaker feud from the skewed writing that is Vince Russo

watch Jim Cornette on 1997 WWF man.
he was on the booking squad then and he has the ledger that Vince made them keep in front of him.its very informative.
I also LOLd at his reaction when Vince wanted to change Vaders name to "The Mastadon"

I think maybe I was just annoyed by his commentary at the time I made this thread.
I have heard that one before.

so many great points right there.insanity.......absolute insanity.the ruination of Steve Williams IMHO They ruined Steve Williams, Bart Gunn and Savio Vega. They kept Bart off of TV for like 6 months after he won the BFA. He came back with a different hair cut and no one knew who he even was .

If anything you'd think that would've catapulted Bart Gunn. But instead he disappeared.

Yeah, that and the fact that Butterbean killed him in less than a minute.
Cornette really praised Dr Death in that interview. Saying he vs Austin woulda made millions. Now, wrestling purists and hardcore fan know who Dr Death is, but I don't know if he would've been as marketable without a personality. Unless they built him up with a Goldberg like winning streak. And the fact that they have the same name, Steve Williams lol.

And the fact that they have the same name, Steve Williams lol. They took Bart Gunn who's fighting experience was simply winning tough man contests in his pre-wrestling days and put him in a boxing match against a boxer whose record was 44-1-1 (as of April 1999). Add that to the fact that he was over 100lbs heavier than Bart and you have yourself the worst idea ever. I give Bart credit for even getting into the ring with him.

Cornette is one of the most brilliant minds wrestling has ever had! I'd rate him right up there with Gary Hart, Jake Roberts, and Paul Heyman. If you hate his glasses, sports jackets, rackets, and obnoxious behaviour then I'd say he succeeded. Agree wholeheartedly with this, big fan of Corny for a while now.

Cornette is a wrestling god.
I could post my reply with just that statement. He's right there with Gary Hart and Jimmy Hart in my opinion. He was a great booker who i think could put out a better product than anyone in the business today.
The only manager i put over him is Heenan, who is far and above all others.
