This is clearly becoming more and more of a problem as the prices continue to rise on Mattel WWE figures. More and more people are resorting to theft to get an accessory, shirt or Title belt rather than pay the full price for the figure or ring which the accessories come with. Mattel is also not going to do anything to make the packages theft-proof such as make them plastic clam shell like McFarlane because it would cost them more money.
My question is, if Mattel started doing accessories packs, such as a pack with ALL Championship belts, packs with the hottest WWE T-shirts at the time, and packs with weapons and other accessories, would this stop theft?
I mean, if some thief wants the Shiny WWE Title and maybe already has Elite 11 and Elite 16 Punk and doesn't want to spend another $17+ on Elite 20 Punk...the scumbag is going to steal it.
HOWEVER, it were possible to purchase belts without having to incur the cost of a figure a person doesn't want or need, perhaps the thefts would stop.
I think the thefts are a result of the fact that Mattel introduces new accessories so rarely and we are always forced to take on a huge price to get them, such as having to buy a completely new ring or a repeat figure to get the accessory.
Personally, if Mattel made accessories packs, I'd be very excited. What do you guys think?

I don't know about stopping theft, but I want to see accessory packs.
I'd gladly pay $20-25 for a set of all of the title belts as opposed to $20 for a figure I don't want with one belt.

Wouldn't work. First, why would someone who steals belts from figures buy a belt pack? This would just be a huge target for theives.

i have always loved the idea of accessories packs. loved when jakks did a title belt 5-pack that retailed for roughly the price of one figure. admittedly, the belts were bland but it was a great way to get the belts without having to buy a bunch of figures as well.
as for stopping theft? nah. haters gonna hate scalpers gonna scalp stealers gonna steal. just the way it is.

Because I don't think you would be able to stand there and steal like up to 10 Title belts and not be noticed. I think we have a false idea on here that these thieves steal ALL of their stuff and never buy anything....I think that's false. I think they buy the majority of their stuff, they just steal things like a belt or accessory they don't want to pay the full price of a figure to get. Maybe these people would pay $17.99 for ALL the belts where they won't pay $17.99 for a figure just to get ONE belt or ONE accessory. How many times have we seen the boxes with the rings in them torn open because somebody wanted the table, chair or whatever but didn't want to pay $25+ for a ring? Maybe an accessory pack would deter people from stealing by giving them WHAT THEY WANT for a FAIR PRICE rather than what Mattel is doing now by releasing accessories at a slow pace and always with things we DON'T WANT for the most part.

While I would like accessory packs to be produced, if somebody is stealing the accessories & not getting busted, why would they spend money on a pack of them when they have a way to get them that, obviously, does not bother their conscience.

I don't think it'll stop theft because people will steal these now but I'd personally love accessory packs because I can get some wanted accessories without buying extra figures to do so

I love the idea of accessory packs. The ability to get a white IC belt, blue MITB case, updated shirts, weapons, etc . . . would be great.

It's not going to sell in any decent amount -- a lot of collectors already have the belts, so that market's halved, and parents/casual buyers aren't going to drop big money on a pack of accessories -- and it's definitely not going to stop theft.

I'd pay $25 for a title pack, as long as they're all shiny

I don't know if it would stop theft but I'd love to buy one. As long as they don't sell for $30+

Although it's a great idea, it will not simply work. Mattel makes most of their money by selling action figures. If people can just buy the accessories without buying the figure then the figures will all peg warm the shelfs and not sell well thus Mattel having to increase their prices to justify the decrease in sales.
It's like a ppv for example. It's like Instead of WWE Charging $45 for the whole show, they charge $5 per match, well guess what, the average person will just pay $5 for the rumble itself and not the whole ppv, same logic with figures.

Yup. My thoughts exactly.

People will steal no matter what. I for one would love an accessory pack as long as the price is reasonable.

Accessorie packs would decrease sales on certain figure so Mattel wouldn't even entertain this idea.
How many people bought multiples of Arn Anderson just for the belt or E10 Big Show for his belts.

A thief is labeled a thief because he steals. A thief is gonna see the belt pack which costs $25, you think he's going to pay that when he knows it can be free! Besides Mattel uses these accessories to sell figures that would otherwise warm shelves. The announce table is a perfect example of buying unnecessary figures

I bought an entire Basic set just for the build-a-backstage curtian thing. Tried to trade the figs NOBODy wanted them so I Then truned around and gave the figures to my friend's son.

I can sell Mattel releasing accessory packs with ladders, tables, etc. but not belts.
