Not trying to be disrespectful by any means I just don't understand this.
Mattel - Cancels Defining Moments, Entrance Greats, and Legends (which I hardly ever saw in stores minus SCSA and Undertaker), and we start to get less and less accessory's. Mattel also says that it costs to much to produce certain things (Shinny belts, cloth shirts ETC...) which is reasonable
But... Mattel has enough money to produce
Flex Force - which no one bought except for weapons
Flex force Lighting - Which I don't think anyone has ever bought
WWE Brawlin Buddies - Which are over priced and just an all around waste (ask Grim!)
And WWE power slammers - Which I don't think anyone one is a fan of. May be bought once or twice for curiosity but that is it.
Your Thoughts?

They are seemingly trying to appeal more and more to children and less and less to older collectors.

Exactly!!! I know the rumblers, flexforce, and bb's are for the kids but if they cancel those lines they could put more money into the figures.Plus the kids wouldn't be that sad! They have all the reys and cenas clogging the shelves!!

If the 4 flashback set that comes out does well I could see some other type of legends type line coming out, I think if they did 3 or 4 waves a year of 4 figures (with some variations) it would work with the right lineups.

By putting less effort into the figures and lowering their production costs, they can make more of a profit.
Mattel realizes they are the only game in town...if you want WWE action figures, you need to purchase Mattel WWE action figures. So they can give you products of whatever quality they desire and you have no choice but to either accept them, or quit.
It's very apparent over the last year and a half that quality control is going way down. Way too many error figures, part defects, horrible paint jobs and less and less cloth goods to where it's almost COMPLETELY rubber/plastic accessories as far as shirts and jackets.
And power slammers probably cost less than $3 to produce and they sell the for $12.99. Defining Moments, with all the cloth accessories and detailing were too expensive to produce for Mattel to make a profit on. Same with Legends. That's why they got cancelled, not because they didn't sell. Mattel wasn't making enough money because they were actually going above and beyond with shirts and robes and pants and all the paint jobs and details.
But Mattel is a company....and the end of the day their primary goal is to make as much money as possible, not make us happy. It sucks, but I understand.

Id love to know how all of the Legends/Defining Moments figures "didnt sell" yet now that they've done Flashbacks, they're arguably the highest priced, most wanted figures of the Elite sets.......Something doesnt add up to me.

I assume that all those things are selling well. If they weren't those lines wouldn't have lasted so long.
They also cancelled the Heritage series......and brought it back. So silver lining.

They wouldn't be cancelling profitable lines or continuing unprofitable ones. There's no conspiracy. Just sometimes the figures we like best aren't the ones that sell. Exactly!!! I know the rumblers, flexforce, and bb's are for the kids but if they cancel those lines they could put more money into the figures. False. They are not going to increase the budget for a line without increasing the PRICE of a line.

They have all the reys and cenas clogging the shelves!! You say that as if Mattel has a budget to just throw money away. They aren't putting more money into kids' toys, they are investing in those because they get a higher return than legends, DMs, EGs, etc. Mattel doesn't just say, "We got 2 million dollars, how do we want to waste it?" "Oh let's blow it on legends, Bill." "No, I'd rather blow it on kiddie toys." Yeah right. It's more like: "We could make a lot more money if we focus on kids rather than adults." It's that simple.

They are that was as they are usually packed the least. Not all fb fly off the shelves. E13 edge comes to mind.

How many times is this going to get brought up?
Flexforce like all other lines had their own budget. And if they were dropped by Mattel the moeny wouldn't go into the other wwe lines. Those budgets are their own thing
As for Flexforce they are the cheapest of those lines mentioned to produce. And they are (or were) Mattel's number one wwe line as far as sales go. Mattel's profits aren't made on what we buy at the store...they've made their money when the retailers ordered their product. And what are you seeing at retail? Flexforce. Because that's the line the RETAILERS are ORDERING/PURCHASING. So seeing that's what every retailing (including supermarkets) are ordering & stocking it's a success in Mattel's eyes. After a few series of the "collector lines" fetailers stopped ordering DM, Legends & EG in favor of the cheaper lines. Does it suck? Sure it does, but Mattel doesn't control what the retailers decide they want to stock.

Toys are for kids. Kids are their main audience. We are not the main target market when it comes to toys. Yes we buy a lot, but they are going to make what kids want, not only what we want. We may think Power Slammers are silly, but kids may love them. Hell if I was little I'd probably have them over something like Elites. Kids come first, remember that, as frustrating as it may be.

Aren't Brawlin' Buddies supposed to be throwbacks to the older ones from the 90s? (or did they ever really go away at all?) I can kinda see the appeal of those, since I had a Hogan one as a kid

I'm a parent and if my son asked me for one of those power slammers that cost 13.00, I would power bomb his @ss through the toy section at Walmart.

Hasn't mattel hacked the flex force line? Every store has them on clearance and I thought Target marked them "not carrying forward" or something.
