Is it possible for current World Champions ( Punk and Del Rio) to compete in the Rumble match? And, could Dolph Ziggler cash in his MItB breifcase during the Rumble on Del Rio? I think that would be a pretty cool turn of events!

I guess im not understanding the face palm factor of my questions. We have 2 champions, only one Rumble winner. That winner goes on to face 1 champion of his choosing at WM. Why not have an oppertunity where Ziggler is in the Rumble with Del Rio and instead of attempting an elimination he goes for pins. Im just asking if this is possible.

OK, I'm not going to be a bunghole. It is against the rules for world champions to enter the Rumble match. The only two that have ever done that were Hulk Hogan in 1990 and Chavo Guerrero in 2008.
And Ziggler is entering the Rumble match, so he won't cash in. If he somehow wins, that would defeat the purpose of him entering so I don't see him winning the Rumble.

Hulk Hogan as WWF Champion in 1990 and Chavo Guerrero as ECW Champion in 2008.

Ziggler cashing in is doubtful. It would be overshadowed by the happenings of the Rumble match and Punk/Rock.

It hasn't been done before, but there isn't any RULE against it. Personally I dont think the Rumble needs that kinda swerve anyway.

It would be smart on Zigglers part. Winning the belt during the Rumble. Lets say he did that and won the Rumble. He would cement his WM title match, so i he did lose the title before Mania, he would still be awarded his match. Look at it from all angles. Punk wanting in to be Best in the World, maybe wanting to go on to face the World Champion to unify the titles at Mania. Alberto wanting to win to secure him as champion and having no one have the right to face him at Mania. It would add a new factor to the match. I don't see why it wouldn't be "legal".

Nope, still not getting it.

Funny you should bring this up because I wrote an article about it last week. bleacherreport.com/articles/1477180-wwe-royal-rumble-2013-breaking-down-the-ideal-dolph-ziggler-cash-in-spoilersDel Rio won't be in the Rumble as world champion, but my idea is for Ricardo to enter and Del Rio to accompany him. This way you can have Ricardo, Big Show and Ziggler all in the ring at one point. Maybe Big Show starts to rough up Ricardo and taunts Del Rio, so Del Rio goes into the ring and is met with a KO Punch. Then Ziggler cashes in and becomes the new champion in the middle of the Rumble. If you want to give Ziggler a memorable title win, that's about the best way you can do it I think.

Frankly, a scenario where either the WWE or World Champion enters the Rumble, wins, challenges for the other World Title (the one they aren't holding, obviously), and wins it at WrestleMania to unify the belts would be incredible.
A scenario within that aforementioned scenario where Ziggler gets another referee to count the pin on the World Champion (Del Rio) in the middle of the match would be f****** nuts, lol. Highly unlikely, but technically all possible and certainly not nonsensical once you wrap your head around it.
