Don't know if i'm alone here but is anyone else losing the love for the toy hunt these days? my area is now covered in switcharoo's and i think my last straw was getting that thrill of seeing a set of elite 19 on the pegs just to see they were all stolen from the packages and basics swapped in. i think online is just the way to go now, which is sad as i've enjoyed the toy hunting since i was a child spending weekends with my brother another toy collector going all around WA. 24 yrs of fun has come to an end for me

You need something else to hunt then. I collect WWE, TMNT, and some Marvel figures so I have pleanty to hunt for. My trick to keeping those childhood figure hunting excursions alive is by looking for new things that are tied to said childhood.

Lack of figs has killed the hunt for me. I just buy online mostly. I miss the thrill of the hunt tbh.

I don't get a lot of switches from where I live, but I can imagine how it would hurt the thrill of the hunt

I've seen 1 Switch ever. Only 3 figs with accys stolen ever. Not an issue here. Lack of figs is the issue here lol

I dont see switches as much as flat out theft of the figures, but the worst switch ive seen was an All Stars 2pack Austin/Punk. Punk was replaced with his yellow outfit RA figure, and Austin was replaced with an old Final Count figure with a bald Kane head.... looked all sorts of wrong. Also been swimmin in a sea of BOPPV Big Show and Miz since christmas, so mark me down for lack of figs too lol

The only switch I saw was a basic regal in the elite regal box. I'm still mad at that. The only stolen item I saw pissed me off so much. Elite 8 Drew with the IC belt stolen. Only time I ever saw that Drew.

I find it hard to believe that there was a full set of E19 switched with basics. no offense

Lack on new product in my area is hurting the hunt far more than switcharoos.

Lack on new product in my area is hurting the hunt far more than switcharoos. Same here. It's not just WWE figures either, it's everything. I look down the toy isles and they are damn near empty in every store. People can't really pull a switcheroo when there is nothing to buy. It makes me not even want to go out.

ALOT of switches in Tampa area. Im seeing a lot of Jakks figures as the replacements. Ive seen a Batista in Yokozuna packaging....
I swear if I catch this person I am going to contact the police. I might see if I can start getting prints on some of these packages...

The thrill of the hunt is the biggest part for me. I've only been collecting Mattels for a few months, and I typically only buy elites of guys I really like, unless there's a scan that's really good. After E20, I'll have all of my favorites for the most part. Until guys like The Shield, or some of the NXT guys come along.

Haven't ran into a switch in my area yet.
Only thing I've seen is the IC title stolen out of an elite Ezekiel Jackson package.

Really? Didn't know that these days you have to take pics of everything to start a conversation on here and I understand its hard to believe but I'm not sure why I'd have to lie about this lol but whatever no offense taken. For the advice of collecting other things, I use to and might have to start again to keep that thrill of the hunt alive

I can appreciate those who enjoy the hunt as it adds an adrenaline rush to finally finding that Liz or Kevin Nash figure, but its never been my thing. Switcharoos are just one obstacle that increases the rush of a successful hunt. You also have to deal with the people who hide figures so they can come back to buy them later. You have to deal with the scalpers who clear the shelves of any new, popular figures. There are also the store obstacles like poor stocking, boxes of figures left unopened in the back that staff won't retrieve for you, pegwarmers occupying shelf space, etc.
Given all these obstacles, I say more power to all the successful figure hunters out there and send my sympathies to those who are losing their love of the hunt. Welcome to the world of mail order. Look at it this way. You may pay a little more for a figure, but you are saving a lot of money on gas and saving a lot of time you can now spend doing something else.
