The other day at work some of my coworkers were discussing Bigfoot sightings in my state and were refuting the claims of some of the alleged sightings that didn't make any sense whatsoever. This made me wonder if anyone here believes in Bigfoot or the Myakka Skunk Ape or has had any encounters

I don't necessarily believe in it, but I am unbelievably fascninated in cryptozoology. Bigfoot is certainly one of the most prominent cryptids in existence; and it is scientific fact that a creature that fits Bigfoot's description did in fact exist. It's a nice thought, but I file most cryptid's under the "cool, but unlikely" category. I'd certainly like to believe in such a creature. I am very interested in what the Erickson project produces.
Gigantopithecus. Look it up.
Erickson Project video:
I have often pondered over whether existence could be known (if they exist), if they were proven to exist and it was public knowledge; it could put such a species in danger due to its extreme rarity.

Nice to see we have more believers on here than we did a few years back.. People use to think I was so crazy for believing what I did.

it could put such a species in danger due to its extreme rarity. Definitely. More than a few people would go out of their way to kill them, just because.

I have always believed but never had the urge to go out on a hunt for Bigfoot. I grew up in the redwoods of northern California and the tales of Bigfoot have always been big in the community. I think I might just go wander around the woods on my next long weekend off and see what I can find

People call me bigfoot all the time, lol.
Meh, I'm skeptical but open to the idea of it's existence. I'm leaning more towards no because I really don't buy into any of that supernatural cryptid mumbo jumbo, but if it does exist it's discovery would really be quite significant to the scientific community. What I don't get is if these creatures really do exist, how can they remain so elusive? I can understand how years ago, but with the technology we have today, I don't see how these so called "cryptids" can still remain so elusive.

This also begs the question of why people don't shoot Bigfoot when they see it while they are hunting for deer or bear. Say if it's a person in a ape costume who gets shot and killed, it's then murder

If Sasquatch does exist, it would probably be the most intelligent animal in existence. They would live in the forests so they would have the instinct to know how to keep themselves from being seen.

My brother goes to a bigfoot/supernatural convention every year, the Pennsylvania Bigfoot Conference. He's going to Parapalooza 105 next month in Gettysburg.
He also belongs to a ghost hunting team. They go all around New Jersey looking for ghosts.
