www.cnn.com/2013/02/15/world/europe/russia-meteor-shower/index.html?hpt=hp_t1Moscow (CNN) -- A meteor streaked through the skies above Russia's Urals region Friday morning before exploding with a flash and boom that shattered glass in buildings and left about 1,000 people hurt, authorities said. Described by NASA as a "tiny asteroid," the meteor's explosion created a blast in central Russia equivalent to 300,000 tons of TNT, the space agency's officials said Friday, adding that the incident was a once-in-100-years event. The injured included more than 200 children. Most of those hurt are in the Chelyabinsk region, though the vast majority of injuries are not thought to be serious. About 3,000 buildings were damaged -- mostly with broken glass -- as a result of the shock waves caused by the blast, the state-run RIA Novosti news agency said......The articles pretty long to copy and paste here so I'm just gonna stop there. The link to read the rest is at the top. Pretty crazy stuff though, hopefully all those injured heal quickly and they aren't severe.

Scary stuff. That would have been some horrific news. Glad no one was harmed during the sighting.

It's a message! The aliens they're coming! They want they're technology they lent the Russians during WWII. Get the subwoofers and the best dubstep song you can find we're going to communicate with them tonight!

I heard when they exploded on a YouTube video. Was probably one of the loudest explosions I've heard, Period.

Apparently if it had entered Earth's atmosphere just 4 hours later it would've hit my city, or at least somewhere close to it since we're on the same latitude as where it hit in Russia.
