so long story short, who from wcw and ecw came to wwf/wwe but importantly, WHEN. also win went from one company to another between these three before the buy out as I know ecw guys were going to wcw near its demise. I just want to get all of this info into a solid time line as this 2001/2002 era is almost a lost period in time for me as far as what EXACTLY happened, as I'm always learning something new.

I think this is a lost period of time not just for the fans, but for the wrestlers themselves too.
It's too hard to say when people came over. I know Storm was the first to do a run in I believe, when Raw was in Calgary. Booker T came in at King of the Ring and attacked Austin. I think it was the following night on Raw where Mike Awesome came in and beat Rhyno for the Hardcore Title, when he powerbombed him on a ladder on the cement floor.
Booker and Buff had a match on Raw, then on Smackdown Sugar Shane and Kidman wrestled, and so did DDP and Booker.
After that, I think all the WCW guys kind of just came in.
Then all the weird turns happened. Like Test going to WCW in August of 2001, helping DDP and Kanyon win the tag belts on Smackdown.
It probably can be done, but someone is gonna have to go back and look at every Raw, Smackdown and ppv to figure it out.

booker t ddp dudleys and rhino should have been used at survivor series as well as invasion. Atleast this felt like wcw vs wwf

Atleast this felt like wcw vs wwf This is correct but crucially would have needed Booker T and DDP to be treated like the calibre of talent they were between Invasion & Surivors...but instead DDP was treated like a jobber and Booker not much better. using what they had, team Alliance should have been DDP Booker RVD Dudley Boys. I am of course ignoring the ridiculous Austin Heel turn.

"Technically" nobody came over from an ECW buyout. ECW folded and went out of business and WWF picked and chose who they wanted to sign. WCW was bought out and anyone who had a contract under WCW (and not under Turner Sports) were brought over or released.

Booker T came in at King of the Ring 2001 DDP came in about 2 weeks before King of the Ring 2001 Dudleys were there since Fall/early winter of 1999
The only ECW guys that really came in from ECW were Rhyno(March), Heyman(late February/Early March right after King left), RVD(July), Credible(February 2001) and Dreamer(July). Everyone else came in earlier: Tazz(Rumble 2000), Raven(Unforgiven 2000), Stevie Richards(August 1999).
As for WCW, Buff Bagwell came and went in about a week, as did Kronik in September. Lance Storm came in in May & Mike Awesome in June.
Everyone else was background noise.

How many were released when WWE bought WCW Jeff Jarrett is the only one right off the top of my head that I know. Im sure if I looked into it there's a few more. AJ Styles might have been one. Like I said though, there was not such thing as an ECW buyout though. The company closed down and some months later WWE bought the rights to the name/library. They didnt get any "contracts" for it.

Rhyno signed in March, RVD signed in July...Joey Styles came in in 2005. Taz, Dudley Boyz and Justin Credible were already in WWE. Heyman came over the same month ECW closed but Im sure he was probably already under WWE payroll.

Whats crazy is that DDP came in 6 days before KOTR, thats crazy! The build we had going into that was insane, and we only knew who the stalker was for 6 days, man back when build meant something to WWE.
Also, wasn't Mike Awesome the first to show himself on TV, or was he just the first to win a WWF title?
I will say though, 2001, from say No Way Out till Invasion is like one of my favourite times in WWF ever, so much going on and all of it seemed to be good.

Not sure if he was the first to show up but he won the Hardcore title during his debut. Looking it up it says it was in June

How come Bischoff signed with WWE when he normally wouldn't have?

Lance Storm was the first WCW wrestler to appear during the invasion. He signed with WWE. ECW closed down April '01... Heyman came over the same month ECW closed but Im sure he was probably already under WWE payroll. To clarify: The last ECW shows were in January '01... And Heyman was in WWE from Feb/March (after Lawler quit).

The guy loves/loved wrestling and he also loves money. McMahon and Bischoff standing on a stage together was instant money bags. Its an image that will be etched in the annals of time, to quote Mean Gene.
