Whats was the deal with the IYH3 main event match?
Why make a match where all belts were on the line, then no title switches occur?
Was it, they made the match and then decided that didnt want anyone to lose their respective belts, or was it Diesel/HBK didn't need the taggers and Yoko/Owen needed to keep them?
The story was Owen's wife was giving birth, and couldn't make it, but how conveniant he made it back in time to run in and be pinned, complete in ring gear. Hmmm?

That match still confuses me.

I often wondered about this match too from back then, because I remember how excited I was for it, wondering if HBK and Diesel were gonna win back the tag titles, or was Owen finally gonna win the IC Title. But when Davey Boy took Owen's spot, I thought it was brilliant booking.
It gave us a preview of Davey Boy vs. Diesel for the next IYH show, and in a mark way of thinking, it gave Jim Cornette another chance to have one of his men take a title belt that night, thus still having Owen and Yoko be tag champs, and Bulldog be IC or WWF Champion.
I know the next night on Raw, the belts are given back to Owen and Yoko and they lose them right there to the Smoking Gunns.
Seemed like a lot of weird booking then.

I liked the idea of the match until it came to fruition, when it was just a mess.
This was just before the time of Survivors 95, where another match I enjoyed the idea of, was the Wildcard Match and also the match of Diesel, HBK, Undertaker vs Bulldog, Owen & Yoko, where the faces get destroyed and Mabel smashes Undertaker's eye socket
Seems there was some experimental booking around this time of 1995.

Yeah the Triple Header was an awesome idea yet the booking aftermath was odd. Had I booked the remainder of the year and into 1996:
- Diesel & Shawn win tag titles. - HBK "drops" IC title to DOuglas whom loses it to Ramon IYH - Diesel drops WWF title to Hart at Survivor Series - HBK & Diesel defend titles against Owen & Yoko at IYH and win while Smoking Gunns become #1 contenders at same event - HBK & Diesel drop titles to Gunns at Royal Rumble after HBK is pinned. Diesel turns fully heel and 1996 takes off as it did after the Rumble.

Nice booking, but would have HBK lose the I.C belt to Razor, (there's no way HBK would lay down for Douglas) and HBK/Diesel would be on double duty at Rumble 96 (Rumble match/Tag Titles), Diesel turns heel after HBK hits SCM accidentally on him and Diesel gets pinned and loses the taggers. Diesel turns heel, the exact same way he turned face, on HBK. The RR match would be the same, with Shawn winning over Diesel.

I think they just needed a hook to generate buys for the PPV, and guaranteeing a title change was a good one in my eyes. I remember buying that PPV just for that reason. However, booking wise, I dont think they saw any reason to have any of the titles change hands, so they pulled the Bulldog/Owen switch so they could have an easy loop hole to return the titles back the next night. Though Im not sure why they then had them drop the titles to the Gunns right off the bat. I would have at least waited until the next PPV.

yeah this was a confusing one........the allure of "superteam" Diesel & HBK taking on the unstoppable Yoko and Owen was a good notion.weird the way it panned out.
