How many of you could watch the WWE product without collecting the Mattel line?
Personally, I don't think I could do it...

seeing as I'm almost only into collecting 80's guys and don't watch too much current WWE stuff I guess I can say I would still buy mattel figures and not watch WWE. Mattel makes some amazing figures I cant imagine anyone is walking by them at retail and not wanting them lol I just wish mattel made more of the guys I want instead of 1 or 2 a year. I would much rather have a collection of factory mattel figures than mostly mattel customs. I also wish they would bring back legends line, but I'll settle for flashbacks.

I did it for a while and honestly held a little grudge against Mattel over the whole Daniel Bryan/Justin Roberts neck-tie incident because of the rumors of Mattel being the driving force behind the firing of Daniel Bryan (I know now that it's not true). I have watched wrestling for 20+ years though and purchased my first wrestling action figure last September. I honestly think Mattel has done a GREAT job with the WWE line though and I am definately hooked

You mean like watch Raw and/or SmackDown without collecting? I couldn't do it either. I've been watching wrestling since I was 6 or 7 and collecting (or at least sporadically purchasing) figures since the same time. Honestly to me they're synonymous with each other, they go hand in hand. I love both of them equally

I really haven't watched the WWE since the Benoit murder/suicide. Now I flip and only watch if Orton, Punk, Triple H, Rhodes are on or there's a commercial on the channel I was watching. The only WWE I sit through now is the stuff I choose on WWE 24/7

Being a wrestling fan and figure collector go hand in hand, but I did not collect figures at all during the TTL days. I dont really like the WWE product now, but I still buy figures of the guys I like.

Im 25 now and started watching wrestling and collecting the figures at the same time when I was 9. I just put the two together. The figs make me wanna watch wrestling and watching wrestling makes me wanna get figs lol.

I mostly watch RAW but I still wouldn't know which new guys to buy if I didn't watch any WWE programming

I record every RAW and fast forward through everything except what I wanna watch which is 25% or less of each show. Actually collecting has drawn me back into watching to be honest.

I rarely watch WWE. Collecting figs is more of a nostalgic thing for me I still know enough to know wahts going on. But most of my viewing is done through Hulu, YouTube or I'll read about it.

Not gonna lie.. I read the title of the thread and immediately thought of "How many people came to see Dubbya C Dubbya?" from Scott Hall's infamous 'survey time' promos.

Even if I were to stop collecting, I know whenever a cool attire pops up I'll be thinking, "Man, that'd make for a nice figure." Either that or I'll hope it'll make it into the next WWE video game.

The opposite happened. I started collecting the Mattel figures by only getting guys that I knew, like John Cena, Undertaker, Rey, Big Show, but very quickly got back into watching the show again, which is great, because not knowing who Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler, John Morrison, Kofi Kingston, CM Punk, etc. etc. etc. are would be a shame. I stopped watching wrestling in about 2001 or 2002.
The figures drew me in, because for the first time in a long time that they were out from under Jakks control and the figures finally resembled close to what was on the market of the time. This isn't a Jakks bash, because I really like the headscans and they gave us a lot of good figures, but Jakks' figures always felt behind the times. Amateurishly sculpted bodies and bizzare scale hurt them. When Mattel took over, these figures were easily on par and have now surpassed the other comparably scaled mass-market lines such as DC Universe Classics and Marvel Legends.

I would and could. Collecting the figures is different. I've bought figures of people I don't particularly care for as wrestlers because they make cool figures (Alicia Fox, Bellas come to mind).

I haven't got back into wrestling yet, but I am looking at collecting again. I think I'll start though, I missed Raw so Smackdown will probably see me watch wrestling regularly again.
