let me start by saying I'm not complaining one bit about any of the ultimate warrior figures we've gotten. I love them all and am extremely happy with the basic 29 one I had preordered, its one of my favorite next to legends series 6. but I see how mattel pays great attention to detail with all of their figures and it is incredible what they have done and will continue to do so in the future but I just dont know why they havent made more warrior figures of him in attires such as royal rumble '91, summer slam '90-'92, his '96 return or one I would like to see is his attire from survivor series '90.
those were just some examples of ones I'd like to see but I'm just asking in general why we dont see him in more detailed attires and I'm sure many others feel the same way.

The Defining Monents one was pretty nice...but I see your point.
If you want answers then maybe you should ask the skeletons who have ready made the sacrifice!!!!

Less paint means those simpler attires are cheaper to produce, though they did bother to make a nice frilly cowboy boot mold for his new basic. I sure hope they'll make more Elites of him particularly Rumble '91 and Halloween Havoc '98 and King Of The Ring '96: With the Ryback body around, you know a singlet Warrior has to be around the corner...

I've been pretty happy with all the Warrior figures that have been released to date. Including the Jakks ones. One of my favs is the very first one Jakks made in the Classics lineup. In his WM6 attire. I saw that figure in store and went head first into collecting wrestling figures.
And from Mattel im going to say my fav is the Basic one in blue trunks. Aside from it being the first Warrior I was able to find in stores, I really liked the look. The attire mattel did was from back before Warrior got so big in Pro wrestling. I like to look at that figure and think that's prob the same basic style trunks he wore back in his WCCW days.

I'm sure we will eventually get figures fo him in some of those attires, I just hope soon. ;D

The green attire that is coming was one of the most wanted versions for me. Had a poster as a kid with that attire. Can't wait!

I was just thinking about this. I think the opposite of what your post claims has happened. I dont feel we've gotten plain attires at all. I think the Blue Trunks one by Mattel and the White trunks from Jakks are the only two warriors we've gotten so far in plain trunks. Other than those two every warrior figure has had trunks with more detail. Warrior didnt start wearing highly detailed trunks till after WM6 pretty much. Before that it was just cool color combos, lots of neon colors, and the ocasional warrior symbol on his trunks. Im not sure how many warrior figures are out total, counting Jakks, Mattel, Hasbro, and what ever company made wcw figs. But im pretty sure so far, counting the green one comming up, it'll be only 3 figs in plain color trunks.

I know from jakks there were some pretty great detailed ones but what I was feferring to is most of the mattel ones to me are plain and what I mean by plain is just the plain trunks with the warrior symbol on the back. the figures still look great dont get me wrong but I do wish we could get more from his championship run and after, since that was when he started to wear more colorful attires.

Well the less detail the cheaper they are to make.

I think B29 was the perfect Warrior to choose for the Basic line, but otherwise, I get what you mean. We probably need one more FB Warrior to get a good balance of simplistic (for him, at least) Warriors and the crazy detailed Warriors. Some people want the singlet, I personally want one of his purple or blue attires. Either way, it's bound to be a cool figure.

Warrior was at his most popular end of 88 til SummerSlam 91 when he left. Warrior didnt wear elaborate airbrush attires until 91.
It would make most logical sense to produce warriors from the time period he is most fondly remembered for.
The only figure that falls out of the warrior peak popularity years is the WM Heritage blue one. But that's from his first wrestlemania and a figure/color scheme we've not seen. I for one thought it looked good as have they all.
Legends 4- SummerSlam 1988 winning the title from HTM. Big warrior moment deserving attire, even if its a bit plain for some. Legends 6- Wrestlemania VI - duh- not too plain looknig to me Defining Moments 2- Wrestlemania VII- a very detailed attire and another sought after attire choice.
Basic 29- pretty much his iconic attire as far as merchandising goes during his 1st run with WWE, even if he may never have worn exactly that attire. It was all over posters, magazines, frisbees, etc

Overall I like the more plain look. It reminds me of the Warrior during the good years of his career. When he wore plain trunks he was comming up. After that, after wm6 where he painted his chest, it was all downhill. Elaborate trunks usually meant you'd only see the Warrior for a few months before he's disappear again.
He started wearing more elaborate trunks/paint after winning the title and was only in wwf for a year or two more before leaving. And then he came back brifely, wearing more elaborate trunks, and left very shortly thereafter. And then in wcw he wore elaborate trunks as well but that was such a short run.

when I think of it, we've gotten 4 warriors to my knowledge, 5 including the upcoming basic 29 one. the legends series 6 is very detailed indeed as is the defining moments 2 warrior. I love all the figures produced thus far dont get me wrong and I even have them MOC. no matter what attire we get of him I will still buy him and add him to my collection. but like I said there are still plenty more attires I'd like to see made even if it isnt from his greatest run with the company, thats all.

simply put.... because it's cheaper to make a figure with plain trunks, than one with detailed trunks.

I'm more concerned about getting Warrior figures from non-specific events. I like figures in attires they wore for a lot of shows, instead of an outfit they only wore in only one particular match.

i wouldnt call it plain.. this was simply Warrior's look from his debut in 88 to mid 1990... obviously he put more detail into his gear, and i agree he looks more awesome in trunks with logos vs plain trunks as well ass boots with multi color tasseles vs one color or none... BUT for a guy my age, each warrior outfit brings back memories of that era, and specific matches / interviews on brother love! / backstage promo's with mene gene... i agree tho now its time to get more of his 91 + gear.. Royal Rumble 1991: Late 1990 SNME appearance, MSG house show teamed w/ LOD vs Demolition: SummerSlam 91 Promo Poster: Survivor Series 1990: those are the top Warrior figures i want next.. i do not prefer any of his singlets or his 96 return... show me what warriors you guys want

There was a cool match where warrior wore all neon green. It was versus the undertaker. Google it. Great costume.

I think one of the main reasons is that he's gotten a lot of basic figures. They usually don't get the really colorful attires in general.
