Just wait, this isn't anything compared to what the finale will hold. Unless your a book reader and know what happens next I doubt it. The second last episodes have always been better than the finale so far. I've read some and know some

The second last episodes have always been better than the finale so far. Yup. Death of Ned, Blackwater and Red Wedding. I dont expect much next episode, last years finale was really disappointing. I hope its not that bad.

You gotta love how they closed the ending credits with just silence. They knew they'd have everybody awe struck. Madness.
Go Daenerys!

Ridiculously good episode. There were little hints that something big was going to down down throughout the episode; Brann saying that Rikkon needs to stay safe in case anything ever happens to Robb or him; The Hound telling Arya that people can get so close then have it all taken away.
The scene was so violent but brilliant TV. The stabbing of Robb's wife was brutal. I agree with others on here that it seems strange as we're wanting the Starks to overcome the Lannisters, but there's still good in Tyrion, Dary, and even Jaime seems to be turning. Plus, I'm interested to see what Jon and The Hound get up to now.

I have read the books and knew this scene was coming.....but man oh man I was still trembling when the doors of the banquet hall were closed.
Nutter did a HELL of a job directing this episode.

You gotta love how they closed the ending credits with just silence. They knew they'd have everybody awe struck. Madness. Go Daenerys! Yeah, they pulled a pro wrestling move. Mute the commentators so that the audience can really soak up what they just saw. I watched the episode again last night and it really hits you hard. You essentially let your inner (or real) sobs fill that empty silence. Those credits feel like they are an hour long too.

I always thought the Zodiac stabbing scene was the most brutal I've seen, but Robbs wife (along with little Ned) is right up there with it.

Just saw Episode 9. Holy freakin' hell.
I'm not a reader of the books and GoT is the only show I keep spoiler free. I literally fell out my chair during the wedding banquet. I just wasn't expecting it...and for it to be so graphic, too!
I cannot wait for the finale!

Plus Sansa is still around. I think we'll still hear about the Stark's but they'll obviously play a less prominant role in Season 4. I like it, makes room for fresh storylines.

I'm just hoping they end the season with the Purple Wedding. It'd please all the people they pissed off with the Red Wedding.

I love what they did with the Red Wedding and I love the way it's pissed everybody off. It was totally shock material, pretty much the same when Jimmy died in Boardwalk Empire. The last 15 minutes of Sunday's episode are easily the best 15 minutes of TV this year.

The last 15 minutes of Sunday's episode are easily the best 15 minutes of TV this year. Shocking doesn't necessarily make something good. I preferred Daenerys taking control of the unsullied to the Red Wedding. However, the Red Wedding will undoubtedly go down in TV infamy if I were to guess. I think it was executed insanely well, but the story turning point itself will cost the series some viewers. It will undoubtedly add viewers as well though because the public stir it has created will get people to find out what the fuss is all about. Not something I really expected to happen. People that don't watch are talking about the show. So that's a very good thing. I want to see this thing play out. However, I'm hoping that the series creators carve their own path. Martin's goal is to keep you reading as many books as possible. With TV, we need a more linear path that doesn't stray so far away from why we started watching in the first place. A lot of fans, from what I gather, have started to ask themselves "what is the purpose" of Game of Thrones. If people lose site of that answer, they will stop watching. IMO, it's better to be Breaking Bad than overstay your welcome. So I hope there is a plan for how this story will eventually end.

I kept wanting Arya to rescue Greywind from his pen.....even though I knew she wouldn't be able to.man that made me sad....really sad.Fiona cried when she read about the Red Wedding and what they did to Robb and Greywind...I had to put the book down.didnt continue for about a week.the books descriptions were much worse.
Robbs face and Mama Starks reaction to his death were both 1st rate too.great acting.
