I'd have to disagree myself on this one, it's been one of the many pleasurable things. Best, there hasn't been many but I wouldn't consider NXT as one of them.

That's not Shawn Michaels retiring from the WWE.

As a HUGE fan of NXT, it's far from the best thing WWE has done in years.

Considering its existence is hardly even acknowledged, I'd have to disagree. It's a great breeding ground, for sure, but I just can't give that much weight to something that the vast majority of WWE's audience doesn't even see or knows exists for that matter.
I would contend, on the list of "best things to happen to WWE in years", Punk's worked shoot is pretty much the mecca. While it may not have changed the company the way we and everyone else would have hoped, it is still the single moment of this era that transcended the sport, gained positive national media attention, and made wrestling relevant again for a brief period of time. It's hard to argue against that.

I think the best thing to happen to WWE in recent years is actually HHH being more involved with the day to day operations. He's the guy that's been somewhat reviving the tag team division and bringing in all the talented indy guys.

Fandango. And that Great Khali soundboard.
NXT season three and the last five thousand weeks of Redemption were better than current NXT, too.
