I was thinking of moves that dont seem to make sense, in that they look as if they do as much damage to the person that executes it. The russian leg sweep seems to fall into this category. Think about it, both wrestlers fall back with equal force, both at the same time, both on their backs. Name some other moves that have a similar effect.

With the Russian leg sweep you are applying pressure by slamming them down. So it would hurt them more.
But yeah, I know what you mean.

the downward spiral, basically just an inverted russian leg sweep, except executer lands on his back, victim face first.

That maneuver saved my life once in a pool hall scrap. It's a real grappling move.
Lord knows there are some moves that are just plain ridiculous.

Stunner ... Executer lands on his arse, can suffer from a broken tail bone lol yea i always thought that. Hogan landed similarly and did lots of damage to himself with that leg drop. Has Austin ever came out and said he did himself any injuries with the stunner for so many years?

Has Austin ever came out and said he did himself any injuries with the stunner for so many years? I'm sure it did some damage to his career, but I never heard him say it. However I did see an interview with Hulk saying he wished he picked a different finisher.

1) Suplex/Super-Plex 2) Top Rope / Regular Sunset Flip (You jump over and land on your back to then bring the guy down. How is that different than being back body dropped?) 3) Headbutt (Diving, standing, whatever) 4) Punch (Probably not as bad as you receiving one but they hurt when you connect.)
Out of all of these, the Sunset Flip is my top pick.

Isnt wrestling all about the art of illusion? How can they make me believe they're hurting someone with this stuff without hurting themselves?

I may risk upsetting a lot of the IWC, but basically every Jeff Hardy move ever!!
Whisper in the wind? I mean he just brushes the guy with his leg. It wouldn't knock a spinning plate over! And the swanton, he flips off the top rope smashing his back on the ground whilst brushing the opponents arm with the back of his neck!
And before anyone starts, I don't hate hardy, but he is the master of the my moves hurt me more than my oppenent!

Big E Langston's finisher is him falling on the ground backwards with his opponent landing on top of him...

Stunner ... Executer lands on his arse, can suffer from a broken tail bone but it also crushes the opponents nose/jaw/ throat against your collar bone...

Apparently, dropkicks only hurt the person executing them if they miss.

My two best friends growing up were hanging one day when my friend Seth decided to run up on Daniel and nail him with a Russian Leg Sweep from behind. The impact damn near knocked Daniel out. Great stuff for everyone but Dan. I may risk upsetting a lot of the IWC, but basically every Jeff Hardy move ever!! Whisper in the wind? I mean he just brushes the guy with his leg. I liked when Bret or Raven did the Russian leg sweep. Into the guardrail was always sweet too.
