I just got elite 20 Cody Rhodes yesterday and I'm very pleased with the figure with the exception of the damn dreaded leg sleeve knee pads!....anyway has anyone cut down the knee pads to make them smaller? I was considering doing this w Cody and Brock's elite figure but want to hear or see if it works before hand

Should do . But with Brock you can take them off and swap them , but with Rhodes you need to take his boot off to do it. If you want to display him then yeah I don't see why not

Didn't have to. The Cody I bought had small white knee pads. Hadn't thought about doing it w/ Brock. After watching Mania I'm thinking about just leaving the pads off.

Haven't cut the knee pads, but that is more because when I got my Cody Rhodes this week he had the new smaller white knee pads on.

I have e20 Cody Rhodes but what I might do I'd swap his kneepads with my Alberto elite 12 kneepads, you can use any del rio I guess

i've cut down E20 Jericho's slightly as well as the All-Stars and Legends 5 Macho Man's knee sleeves. it can be done. I just used scissors and it looks pretty good. One of Jericho's is a little uneven in the back but i'm okay with it.
as for brock's terrible, terrible kneepads, i just swapped 'em out with a pair of vintage jakks elbowpads (the first gen ones, not the newer, larger ones) and i'm VERY happy with how it turned out. I'll post pics when i get home from work if no one else does it first.
*edit - for the record, the newer, larger jakks elbow pads i was speaking of make excellent kneepads for mattels. i've used them on a Punk fixup as well as on MVP and even a sheamus (i eventually gave to my nephew).

Just buy an E12 Del Rio or RR Heritage HBK and swap knee pads. If spending money is out of the question, then you can try to trim them. Last time i trimmed knee pads (Black ones) it opened them up and made them vulnerable to tearing a lot faster and easier. Maybe if you plan to cut them and just sit Cody on the shelf, then yes that would work, never to touch him again, but if you fiddle with your figs a lot and play with them, then a knee pad swap is going to be what you want to do. I would suggest a knee pads swap anyways as its very easy to do and way more professional.

i used a scalpel knife and trimmed my wm punk and e16 punk whilst they were still on so i knew where i was at size wise as long as you dont put too much pressure on it it shouldnt mark the fig, no marks on mine so far hope this helps

i've seen the larger kneepads trimmed..not a fan of the look. id rather swap them out for some smaller pads.

I've seen them and they look fine imo. I wouldn't cut them though, mostly if I would use it for display only.

I tried doing Brock's but failed miserably The good news is that Brock did not wear knee pads at Wrestlemania! So you don't need pads on him anymore!

I ran out of small knee pads, so I cut some of the triple H ones for the RVD Im working on, It looks great, just follow the lines around the square pad on the knee cap, it looks really good like that.

I have cut macho ones down and IMO they look kinds silly, but not nearly as dumb as the full size sleeves look
