I still collect dvds (and vhs for that matter) and will most likely never fully replace my collection with blurays, but if I'm buying anything I don't already own and the choices are comparable, I will always choose blu ray.

Just seeing the work that goes into some of the films that have been brought out on Blu-ray is mind blowing. Best example, James Cameron's Aliens. The work they put into it to clean up the film made it look like it was filmed yesterday.
The people that claim they can't tell that a movie looks any better on Blu-ray never cease to amaze me. I don't know whether they just don't pay attention to how a movie looks or just don't care to see a difference.

BluRay is easily the superior one especially if you want the best out of your HD tv although I buy both.

Without question, Blu-ray.

Count me in here as well. I still buy Dexter in DVD format because that's how I had the first 3 or 4 seasons before I even contemplated switching. For the most part, I'm pretty much Blu-ray all the way. I have a 60 inch TV and there is a very noticeable difference imo. I don't mind upscaling but I prefer BR. Getting to watch stuff like Willow on BR just creates almost that "first time" experience. Which I love with the older movies. New stuff is a no brainer since they give you both versions and I get the DC which I watch on my iPad for work trips. I still have hundreds of DVDs and genuinely try not to re-buy stuff on Blu-ray but if I really love a movie then chances are I've at least thought about getting it again on BR. It's a sick game though. I own Fight Club on VHS, DVD and BR, and it's definitely not the only film in my collection like that since I had a considerably large VHS collection and a giant DVD collection.

Blu Ray, You have to be out of your mind to think anything can be as good.
Also as other have said, You can get Blu Rays for cheap now and just look for deals! The other week I scored 4 Harry Potter films, Monster's Inc and How to Train Your Dragon all for only $22!!!

I have so many DVDs it's not funny, but the amount of movies and some TV shows on Blu-Ray is getting there.
I picked 'Mixed'.

This for me. Though I voted blu-ray. It's hard to deny the picture quality. but I do get a lot of dvd's on the cheap from pawn shops and those are fine at 1.25 a pop. Not like I can't sell them off later and buy the blu-ray if I want.
