My federation shows will be written in a recap type format and will all be wrote in the order as the matches/segments happened.
The WWF was coming off the heels of one of the most thunderous WrestleMania's in (wspaman's) wrestling history, the Undertaker had overcome the wrath of Paul Bearer and Brock Lesnar's teaming and defeated Brock and Big Show to become the WWF Champion, Vince McMahon had regained all power of his company by beating Eric Bischoff in a no disqualification match and humiliating him after the match along with his daughter and we crowned 2 other new champions in Shelton Benjamin (European Champion) and Kurt Angle (Intercontinentle Champion). So what would be in store for Raw just 24 hours after the eruption of last night had settled?
OPENING
Raw opened up with it's usual colorful and loud pyrotechnics and explosions along with JR expressing his views on Sunday's events whilst Jerry Lawler was openly ecstatic about Mr Mcmahon acquiring his company back- 'The boss is back!'
----------
Brock Lesnar's theme hits and the Anaheim Pond is booming with boos and jeers from the crowd, Paul Bearer is the first to emerge from the titantron with his head slowly bowed- Lawler takes us back to WrestleMania to show us why Paul isn't his usual jovial self. Brock Lesnar aggressively follows behind Paul until they enter the ring, Brock still being taunted for being without the title. After Lilian introduces Brock as the FORMER WWF champion, Brock grabs the microphone and begins to somewhat 'forgive' Paul for striking him with a chair last night, thus costing him the title, going on to say he knew it was an accident and that he was trying to get the Undertaker (Lawler interrupts at this point telling of how 'good' it is to see the 2 men have 'righted their wrongs'). Brock's face of forgiveness quickly turns to anger, quietly saying 'But the fact is Paul, your accident DID cause me to have 8 stitches in my head last night, but more importantly, I lost the damn title!' Paul is shown to be apologetic, but Lesnar is seemingly consumed with frustration and then stops, appearing to have calmed down.
'Paul, I may have forgiven you for what you did... But now, it's your turn to forgive me for what I'm about to do'- Lesnar kicks Paul in the sternum and gives him and F5, raging again on the microphone that he DEMANDS a title rematch TONIGHT.
-Big Show's music hits-
As Paul rolls out of the ring from harms way, Show stands at the top of the ramp informing Brock that they both lost at WrestleMania and should quit whining about how badly he was screwed, as he got screwed out of the title from the start when he won the Rumble, got put in a match w/Undertaker at No Way Out and lost his right to go to the main event and then put back in the match but is still included with Undertaker. Brock and Big Show head into a war of words, eventually leading into a brawl inside the ring after Show ran for Brock. JR excitedly yells 'this whole thing has blown up once again!!!!'
-Triple H's music begins-
Lawler- What!? Now what!?
JR- HHH making his way out here, for a reason I sure hope we find out!
Triple H is called an a**hole from the fans as he stands on the entrance way as he begins getting down to business on the mic. He says after watching this ordeal in the back he's got an idea for how tonight is gonna go down, he says because Vince is not yet here and neither is Stephanie that he is temporarily calling the shots (more boos and chants) and says that tonight HBK is already set to be destroyed by Kane and gives Big Show the opportunity to destroy the former IC champ Sting, whilst Brock is given a title match- against Benjamin tonight for the European title. Undertaker will go one on one with himself (HHH) and if HHH wins, he will be the number one contender for Undertaker at Backlash.
-Triple H leaves-
Big show leaves the ring whilst Brock is left fuming in the ring at HHH's announcement.
JR- My god, Brock and Benjamin tonight for Shelton's newly gained European title, Big show will go head to head with Sting and that no good power hungry Triple H has booked himself against Taker!
Lawler- This is great! Wait till Vince gets here JR and gets wind of this, the Game has just killed more than 2 birds with 1 stone!
JR- What a Raw it's going to be ladies and gentleman, also tonight Kurt Angle takes on Jamie Noble for the Intercontinentle title as well as the returning Shawn Michaels in his first match in 6 months against Kane TONIGHT!
---------------------------
1ST Match- Chris Benoit vs Diamond Dallas Page
At WrestleMania, Chris Benoit was involved in a brutal triple threat tag team championship ladder match and was feeling the effects of it tonight. DDP on the other hand was fresh and could have the upper hand against the crippler (stated by JR).
The match began with a collar bone tie up followed by Benoit applying the knife edged chops and kicks to DDP, the match was going Benoit's way until DDP utilized the outer confines of the ring to his advantage, working on Benoit's ribs with the ring apron. Benoit did manage to recuperate later on in the match, but his downfall was when he missed the flying headbutt and pinned by DDP (who had his feet on the ropes for leverage). DDP's injustice was not impressive to Jim Ross, nor the fans.
WINNER- Diamond Dallas Page
------------------
Vince McMahon arrives in the arena and is confronted by both Jericho and Benjamin. Vince says he wants to CONGRATULATE Y2J and Benjamin for their victories last night although they have had their problems, and says he wants to start a fresh slate now he is now in charge again. Y2J quickly informs Vince of what HHH has just done and tells of his anger about not being in the WWF title hunt after beating HHH and Kane in a tag match at WrestleMania. Vince appears to snap and tell Jericho that HHH's decision making tonight is not official and therefore will not happen (Taker/HHH match is cancelled as well as the Benjamin/Lesnar match), McMahon states there are other plans in store for Undertaker and that tonight, as he's feeling 'generous', he's giving both Benjamin and Jericho the night off.
JR- W..Wai.. Why has Vince just changed those matches that his son in law made? That doesn't make any sense to me and even giving Jericho and Benjamin the night off? Man, Triple H isn't gonna be happy about this!
----------------
2ND Match- Kevin Nash vs Mankind
This match again saw a visible weakness for the man who competed last night in a grueling contest, hence the reason why Mankind was not 100% following up from his hardcore match (losing the hardcore title). Nash and Mankind brawled in the ring since the ring bell was sounded and traded blows, along with Nash planting Mankind with a sidewalk slam at one point. During the match, Mankind drives his knee deep into the face and nose of Nash and goes on to 'showboat' (as Lawler called it) to the fans which allowed Kevin to quickly recharge his batteries and hit Mankind in the face with a big boot. Nash got on the lateral press but only got a 2 count, picking Mankind up to his feet, he attempted a clothesline and missed it, allowing Mankind to lock the mandible claw on.
JR- He'll stick those fingers in deep will Mankind! In order to make his opponent pass out!
Lawler- WHAT!? JR your filthy mind oh gawd, Mankind now has the advantage!
JR- I think that's your filthy mind there King, oh no wait Kevin Nash is fighting back!
Nash battled out of the mandible claw (followed by boos) and set Mankind up for the jackhammer, after Nash laid it on Mankind, he then gave him a big splash that led him to get the victory.
WINNER- Kevin Nash
-------------------------
Booker T and Al Snow go into Edge and Christian's locker room area, Al Snow led the way in telling E&C to get prepared for Backlash as those titles are coming his and Booker's way. Edge and Christian state they will happily defend their titles at Backlash since Snow and Booker won a contenders match, but for tonight they want no trouble. Booker and Al attempt to leave when Christian says he could use some entertainment- asking Booker and Al Snow to do the spinaroony. Al seems happy to do it, but Booker takes himself and Al away from E&C's laughter and starts shouting at Al for making him and himself as a team look like fools and blames him for the reason nobody takes them seriously.
------------------------
JR- Ladies and Gentleman unfortunately last night during the women's title match, err Trish was re-injured at the hands of Lita and will be out of action again for at least 3 months. Trish out with a broken arm again King which I know you won't be happy with, but what about Vince's new attitude here tonight?
Lawler- Vince is a very smart man JR and mark my words when I say that Undertakers little surprise isn't gonna be a good one! I can only imagine what the deal is with Benjamin and Jericho though after the hell they've put the faction through!
------------------------
HHH confronts Vince about what he did earlier on.
HHH- I go out there and think I'm doing the right thing for the faction and you come here cancelling my damn matches and giving Jericho the night off, what the hell is that? That jerk talks crap about my wife, your daughter and your gonna let him get out of an a** kickin'?
Vince- Now listen, you know that last night I beat Eric to regain control over this company and like I told you weeks ago Hunter, things are gonna change around here. Now, I understand your feelings of bewilderment and confusion here tonight but I guarantee you, tonight is under control. (Vince grins whilst HHH walks out)
JR- Is it just me or are possible cracks beginning to appear here?
Lawler- Nonsense JR! Don't go around peddling that kinda garbage!
-----------------
3RD Match- Intercontinentle Championship; Kurt Angle vs Jamie Noble
Jamie Noble may be a smaller athlete to Kurt Angle but both these men are both technically sound and have a great amount of 'ring intellect' (JR informs). Noble's high flying skills came into play during the course of this match and seemingly had Angle beat and various points in the match. Both men fought outside the ring which didn't work out incredibly well for Jamie, as he got suplexed hard onto the concrete. They both end up back in the ring and Angle applies an abdominal stretch to Noble, fans obviously behind the Olympic gold medalist. Almost quicker than a blink of an eye, Noble rolls into an inside cradle and gets a near 3 count- flustering Kurt who comes back with an aggressive approach. Noble hits a dropkick and Angle goes into the turnbuckle where Jamie ascends to the second rope, Kurt lays a right hand to the gut of Noble and drops his head into the turnbuckle, followed by the angle slam. Kurt then gets Noble into the ankle lock, making Noble tap instantly.
WINNER (and still champion)- Kurt Angle
-----------------
Randy Orton makes a challenge to Kurt Angle next week on Raw for the IC championship after being asked by Kevin Kelly what Orton's plans are coming off of WrestleMania.
------------------
Moments after Orton requests a challenge to Kurt, back in the parking area Undertaker is seen leaving the arena upon hearing the news that he isn't facing anyone tonight. From behind, a dark figure lamps Undertaker with a steel pipe, knocking the phenom to the ground.
JR- So that's what Vince had in mind, huh!? What a cowardly act, lots of objectivity here in the WWF!
Lawler- Hey you don't know who that was JR that appeared to me to be a completely random attack! Undertaker's the champ now, the big red target is on his back that could have been anyone!
JR- Well all I know is whoever that was that just jumped the Undertaker, they'll have hell to pay!
--------------------
4TH Match- Big Show vs Sting
King- What a wild night it's been here tonight JR and it's not even over yet! (Big Show's theme hits and explosion erupts on stage)
JR- It could be an even worse night for our former IC champion here against Big Show, this nasty 7ft 500lb man is pi**ed off and hungry for a fight!
Sting and Big Show go right into battle with Big Show dominating after failed cross body and other aerial maneuvers from the top rope. Show hoists Sting up into the air and military slams him right on the front of his body on the canvas. Sting rolls out of the ring and reaches for a chair, to which the referee detects it and takes it away, leaving Sting to give Big Show a low blow behind Earl Hebner's back. After clotheslining Big Show over the guard rail, the referee is back in the ring pleading for them to get back in, with his attempts being ignored, Sting and Big Show brawl back into the ringside area where Big Show picks up a chair this time, nailing Sting across the back. Big Show was disqualified but shown no remorse or care about what he did and about losing the match.
WINNER (by disqualification)- Sting
------------------
Michael Hayes interviews HBK ahead of his match next with Kane.
Michael Hayes- Shawn, everyone wants to know, now that you officially stated last night that you're back here in the WWF, are you going to contend for the WWF Championship?
HBK- Gee I hope I can, but tonight I want to get one thing straight. Last night, Kane and Triple H got in my face when I was referring their match, I did NOT, and I repeat not, instigate any of this little disruption to the faction, so for all the rumors going around in the locker room area earlier today, there is the answer to the 'motivation.' Sure Michael, HBK would like to taste the gold again, but what I did last night had nothing to do with that, it was about me handling business the best way I know how- just like I will again tonight.
(Crowd cheers loudly)
(Kane and HHH make their way towards the gorilla position)
JR- There is the opponent of HBK tonight, the big red monster Kane, who wants revenge on costing him and the Game their match last night, folks, Kane and Shawn Michaels... Next!
-------------------------
MAIN EVENT- Shawn Michaels vs Kane w/Triple H
Kane is the first to come out, being accompanied by Triple H who is continuously praised by Jerry Lawler as JR comments on how talented the Game is but how sickening his actions and mindset are. Shawn Michaels makes his way to the ring, with the crowd massively behind him before the match has even started, once in the ring however, Kane and HBK stare each other down before HBK runs straight towards Kane. The bell sounds, and HBK is already giving it to Kane, with fierce right hands and an Irish whip. HBK leapfrogs over Kane as he comes back towards his direction and bounces off the ropes himself, catching Kane with a flying forearm. Triple H has a look of worry and distress, as Kane sits up and is met by HBK attempting a dropkick to which Kane moves out of the way for. Both men end up on the outside, HHH shouting instructions to Kane to finish Shawn off, Kane gives HBK an uppercut and rolls him back in the ring- at this point, Kane is climbing the top turnbuckle and attempts a flying clothesline which is countered by Michaels into a DDT. Both men are down on the canvas when HHH gets on the apron to distract the referee, HBK out of nowhere nips up 'quicker than a hiccup' (as said by JR) and gives the Game sweet chin music off the apron and into the announce table. Kane picks up Michaels and slams him hard into the mat and follows up with a leg drop. HBK manages to get his shoulder up- Kane picks him and tries for a chokeslam and is countered, HBK runs and jumps onto the second turnbuckle and hits Kane with a twisting cross body straight into the pin, HHH pulls the referee out of the ring before the count hits 3.
JR- Oh come on! That was 3!!!!
Earl Hebner ejects HHH away from ringside, bringing delight to the crowd but dismay for the Game. Triple H hits Earl in the head with a closed fist, but back in the ring Shawn Michaels had been choke slammed and covered for the pin. HHH tries to get Earl back into the ring but the referee is still out from the blow he took from Triple H. Kane then asks HHH to get the sledgehammer, who then pulls it out from under the ring.
(As HHH is about to hand the hammer to Kane, Jericho comes from down the ramp and attacks Triple H)
Lawler- Jericho what are you doin' out here Vince sent you home!!!
JR- Y2J running down to assault Triple H... King wait look, thats Shelton in the ring!
(Kane has his back turned as Shelton Benjamin spins him forward and delivers a superkick to Kane)
Lawler- What is he thinkin' now!? Stop this! Vince!?
Earl Hebner slowly starts to move around as Shawn Michaels sets up for the sweet chin music. The crowd is absolutely electric, and want HBK to superkick his way back into the title hunt for the WWF championship! As Kane gets to his feet, he is struck fiercely by sweet chin music... HBK hooks the leg of Kane, and Earl counts with as much strength as he does until he gets to 3.
JR- An unpredictable ride for Shawn Michaels here tonight, who may have just solidified his name in the WWF title game!
Lawler- Yeah but if it wasn't for busy body Jericho and his little buddy Benjamin HBK would have been torn apart here tonight!
JR- The Backlash of WrestleMania has well and truly unfolded here tonight, but come April 28th who will be the most infected by the Backlash of the McMahon- Helmsley family!?
(End of show)
This is my first time doing one of these, and that is an awful lot of text and writing done here and if (it's a big if) anybody does have the patience to read it all, advice and tips would be hugely appreciated. Is there too much writing? Would a couple of pictures perhaps making it a bit more better? Feedback please guys!
