he deserves most of it.
He's like a fortune telling of what John Cena or the Rock will become. He was the 'leader' or the popularization of wrestling, but he did have and still does have alot of flaws that a man in his position maybe shouldn't.
for instance:
- the man can't / couldn't wrestle. he had a really limited moveset for someone who got so much attention. - he's completely lost his charisma, he just gets cheap cheers for saying 'brother' or rallying up the crowd. - he's trying to make TNA into the WWE, which it will never be, and I don't want it to be. - he can't build superstars. he only knows how to make hulk hogan.
I think the last one is the most important, but there's loads more issues a man in his position shouldn't have.
I like the guy, and he brings in crowds, but he should just be used for appearances rather than actually doing anything.

I am just going to talk about Hogan's run in TNA.
I think so far in his three years or so in TNA that he has done a lot of good work, but also a few bad moves.
The things I have like is TNA going back to the four sided ring, changing the look of TNA,taking Impact on the road, build storyline and most of all giving pushes and turn guys like Storm,Roode,Aries and Bully Ray into main eventers.Bring in talent like Hardy,RVD,Aries,King...ect.Also love his GM role on TV and feel that he adds a lot to the show even tho he can't wrestle anymore.
So of the bad has been the booking of AJ Styles until his recent "Sting Crow" gimmick, the total lack of use on extremely hot talent in Desmond Wolfe and The Pope, totally drop the ball on both, then lastly bring in all of his old buddies.
But of the negative things he has turned around quite a bit.No longer is his crew around,Styles is now the focus of the show along side Ace's & 8's
So overall I was down on Hogan when he first came to TNA but really feel that now he's finally getting things cooking and the product is at a extremely high point.

Hogan isn't as bad as people want to believe. The guy knows how to work a big match.

so what if he didn't pass the torch? you seriously asked that? automatic failure. hogan is a cancer to the wrestling industry. The wrestler who put wrestling on the map is a cancer to the industry? He tried to pass his torch to others like Warrior and Goldberg. The thing a lot of people forget is Hogan was big enough of a name that just being a feud with him made that person a bigger name (EX: Earthquake, Big Bossman, Etc..).

Then theres his family that he gets so much heat for, his son may be a spoiled brat but hows that our business? then his daughter got brought into TNA and everyone was bashing him for that but why shouldnt he? his daughter isnt doing nothing...why not bring her in make her some money and give her a job...is that awful just because hes looking after his kids? I really struggle to see where/how people get off knocking Hogan i really do. All these people who come out and criticize the guy, who are they at the end of the day and what have they done? Its lonely at the top and Hogans been there a long time and i cant help but admire the guy for it. I dont care what anyone says i like Hogan and i think he gets too much stick. Well said. A lot of criticism Hulk gets seems to be that he is/was only looking out for himself, his friends, and his family - but given the same situations, I'm sure a lot of us would do the same... is it really such a bad thing? And for a guy who "never put people over", he LOST in 3 of the biggest matches of his career (against Ultimate Warrior, Goldberg, and The Rock). If it wasn't for Hogan, there arguably wouldn't have been the whole wrestling-boom period of the '80's... simply put, he is/was the most over wrestler in the history of the business. And if anybody doubts the impact he had - especially in WWF/WWE - just go back and watch the 10 minute ovation he got when he returned on Smackdown that time... no-one has ever gotten a reaction like that, before or since. No-one.

I'm glad someone made a thread like this. I don't understand why people give Hulk such a hard time, and another thing about Hogan is that back in the day he worked with pretty much every heel in the WWF. You also pointed out that Hulk put people over, even though a lot of internet fans love to say he never put anyone over. Also when Hulk came back in 2002 for a legend run he put all kinds of talent over. Triple H on the other hand never hardly lets young talent get one up on him (perfect example is WM 26 and whatever PPV he and Punk wrestled at and he beat Punk). Another thing I would like to touch on is how nice Hulk his with the fans. I have met him 2 times and I can say that he really looks like he has a good time at autograph sessions and likes meeting his fans. Hulk has will probably always be my favorite wrestler and I don't think he deserves a lot of the bad mouthing people gives him. I know this thread is about Hogan but there's so much wrong with this statement. He had to defeat Punk at Night of Champions because the creative team booked themself into a corner and this was the only logical way to keep the story going. And the statement that HHH never puts younger or up and coming superstars over is wrong as well. Just take a look at some Mania examples. Tapped out to Benoit at XX, got pinned by Batista cleanly at 21. Tapped out to Cena at 22. He put Sheamus over at Extreme Rules 2010 (the PPV after WM26). It came off like Sheamus put him out for good as it took him nearly a year to come back.

Hulk has will probably always be my favorite wrestler and I don't think he deserves a lot of the bad mouthing people gives him. I'm sorry, but this one paragraph proved how biased/blind you really are. Triple H has put way more talent over than Hogan ever has. And the only reason Hunter defeated Punk was because he was a last second fill in for Nash. As many know, Nash didn't pass his pre-match physical. So creative put Triple H's COO job on the line as a way to entice fans to still order the PPV. Punk kicked out of several Pedigrees and only lost due to outside interference from Miz & Truth. And as YMH stated Triple H's Wrestlemania record proves he not afraid of putting someone over. But hey, don't let the truth get in the way of a good story, right? Fact is no one ever walked out of a (face) Hogan feud looking better than they did beforehand. Hogan would take a superstar's finisher 5 times and sit up waving his dumb finger in their face. How does that help build their creditability? Plus Hogan only agreed to let Savage & Warrior have the WWF title so he could film his movies. Under the condition he would get his title back as soon as filming wrapped. Are you aware he never put over Randy Savage? His so called best friend! Plus he forced WWF to put the belt on Slaughter because he wanted to be the American hero that saved the day at WM7. And please dare to defend his power play at WM9 where he walked out as Champion even though he was not involved in the title match. While we are at it lets talk about his refusal to put over Hart at Summer Slam that year. And since you mentioned his 2002 run where he " put all kinds of talent over", let's talk about his power play against HBK. Where he made HBK turn heel for one month because he didn't want the fans divided. Or how he backed out of their rematch that HBK was supposed to win. Or how bout how he exaggerated his knee injury till WWE agreed to let him go over Orton? Threatening to pull out of a match a week before the PPV because he didn't like the outcome doesn't sounds like good business. As far as his TNA run goes.... Don't think for a moment he's there because he wants to help their business improve. He's there to get his face on TV while sticking it to McMahon. He tried to turn TNA into a stomping ground for his lackeys. Nasty Boys on TV in 2010? Really? He goes on the radio and publicly airs out his disapproval of Robert Roode days before the biggest match of his career. Gives his daughter a job. Is it because she loves wrestling and wanted to be a part of it her whole life? Or is it because her singing career & reality TV career were over and she needed a place to stay famous? Oh and it's obvious his feud with Bully Ray is him lining himself up for a run as TNA champion. I'm in no way trying to demean his importance to wrestling or it's popularity. And if he's your favorite wrestler then more power to ya, but don't act like he's not the biggest backstage politician in wrestling history.

Sounds to me like your just an HBK/HHH fan that wants to bash Hulk so I think your pretty biased and blind yourself. I'm not going to argue about Triple H (I think I'm right and you think your right so there is no use). Oh yea....Warrior did not look better after beating Hulk at WM 6? Oh yea Earthquake was not a big name after he walked out of a feud with Hulk? The Million Dollar Man was not a big name after his feud with the Mega Powers? Big Bossman was not a bigger name after his feud with Hulk? Yokozuna was not a bigger name after he beat Hulk at KOTR? Brock was not a bigger name after he beat Hulk in 2002? Undertaker was not a bigger name after his feud with Hogan back in the day? Piper was not a bigger name after his feud with Hogan? Do you really want me to continue this list??? He never put over Randy Savage just like Bret never put over Austin. Macho Man became the mega name because of his hard work, excellent ring and mic skills, and his feud with Hulk Hogan. I have never heard this WM 7 story so I don't buy that for one second. WM 9, the only thing good on that show is Hulk winning that title. As for Hulk not putting over Bret....I always like to think Hulk felt Bret was not good enough to go over him, and from a business standpoint Bret never came close to Hulk so he was smart never to put him over. You touched on 2002 but jumped to 2005? Why? Hulk put Brock over and made him look like a true beast, he tapped out to Kurt, and he lost to Rock (just to name a few). Oh my gosh! Was it really so bad that Hulk wanted a good guy vs bad guy feud? Looked like HBK had some fun with it that summer. As I said before had HBK not have super sold the big boot (or whatever he did with it) and acted more professional, maybe Hulk would have put him over. Heck maybe Hulk was really injured? Do you know? Also What comes around goes around and HBK deserved any games that Hulk might have played....not like Shawn was beyond playing his own games. I love it how you know the TRUE back story to all of Hulk's matches. Watch his SS 2006 match and tell me he don't look injured in it. Orton should have won that match but we don't know what went on backstage and since Orton talks good about Hulk I really don't think Hulk pulled many dirty games on him. As far as his TNA run goes I'm not going to touch on that because I'm really getting tired of typing. Hulk is a smart business man and looks out for himself first. You can defend Bret and Shawn all you want (I always liked HBK for the most part), but those 2 played a lot of dirty games of their own backstage. It is a shame everyone backstage can't be like The Undertaker but the fact is almost every top name has played all kinds of these dirty games and I don't think Hulk has played the dirtiest backstage games. I'm not trying to argue, just trying to point out some things and make things clear. You should not have said I was blind or biased because I'm really not.

right casue Shawn Michaels who has also refused to put people over has room to get pissed. We aren't talking about 90's HBK. Shawn Michaels is still as much of a jerk as he ever was. A leopard doesn't change his spots. His whole finding Jesus stuff is a bunch of crap. There are plenty of religious people who are lying loathsome creeps. Religion doesn't make you good or bad. But Hogan is an egomaniac, too. Putting those together was sure to lead to trouble. I was at the PPV where they fought and it was very fun - but I didn't realize until later, when I saw it on TV, just how badly Shawn was overselling everything and making a joke of it.

I'll keep this short(er) since much like you, I'm tired of typing. Of all the names you mentioned from the 80's early 90's, Warrior is the ONLY one with a clean pinfall victory over Hogan. How many more Main Events did Earthquake have after Hogan? How bout Dibiase? Bossman? Once the Hogan program was over they were all negated back to the mid-card. Even Piper never got another shot at WWF gold. While Yoko and Taker could only get victories over Hogan because of outside interference. Oh and how long was Taker champion before losing it back to Hogan? 3 days? It has been widely reported that the original plan was for Hogan to face Warrior in a rematch at WM7. But because of the heat Slaughter was getting during Desert Storm, Hogan pushed for him to defeat Warrior, so the "All American" can save the day. Is it true? I dunno for sure, but it sure sounds like it to me. As for the part where you say "I always like to think Hulk felt Bret was not good enough to go over him, and from a business standpoint Bret never came close to Hulk so he was smart never to put him over" Well maybe you and many fans would have felt differently about Bret had Hogan passed the torch? And that one loss would have helped WWF going forward. But of coarse he couldn't do that. And I skipped over 2002 Hogan run because I try to pretend it never happened. Yes he put over Rock.. twice. But it was also reported he was not happy about losing to Lesnar or Angle. And that Hogan was upset about not being the focal point of the show. You also say I can "defend Bret & Shawn all I want", when I don't see any point where I claimed they were always innocent. Topic was about Hogan so I was aiming my post towards Hogan & his politics. Yeah okay, that wasn't that much shorter.

Without reading what I'm sure a lot of is Hogan bashing, the guy is the biggest name in wrestling history in America. Bar none. He has done so much for the business. Has he been political? Yep. So have a lot of guys that don't get nearly as much sh**. I'm looking at you Michaels. He wasn't the best in the ring by a long shot, but he was extremely entertaining and charismatic. And TNA wasn't much better before he arrived. People want to blame him, but he isn't the sole person in charge of TNA. And to say he didn't put people over is ridiculous. Go watch his 2002 stuff. He put over most the roster. I honestly think 75% of the people here who bash him weren't even fans when he was an active wrestler.

Anyone ever see this.....
Im not 100% sure how reliable all of this is, but I have heard a lot of this before. And it really does make a lot of sense of some questionable decisions through out the years.

Makes sense to me, Hogan was a master politician.

so what if he didn't pass the torch? you seriously asked that? automatic failure. hogan is a cancer to the wrestling industry. The wrestler who put wrestling on the map is a cancer to the industry? He tried to pass his torch to others like Warrior and Goldberg. The thing a lot of people forget is Hogan was big enough of a name that just being a feud with him made that person a bigger name (EX: Earthquake, Big Bossman, Etc..). pro wrestling was on the map before hulk hogan. territorial wrestling wasn't some caveman product, in many ways it was vastly superior in format to the bright lights vision vince mcmahon had. i give hulk his credit. he did great things for the wwf (i would not say for the wrestling industry by any means) in the 80s and recreated himself successfully with the nwo, but he never knew when to just roll over and off. he became a malignant sore first in the wwf in the early 90s, in the wcw ever since he didn't do the job right for sting and has basically been damaging for the industry since. he's been babied in the ring for eons now, was never fun to watch in the ring by the time he hit the wwf...

I see at least 2 things that are wrong. It says Hogan courted Savage in 95 to come to WCW. Randy first appeared in WCW in December of 94. "specifically Triple H refuse to put the WWE Title match in a secondary role." HHH has said he wanted Hogan/Rock to go on last. Chris Jericho said several times that he and HHH went to Vince and begged for Hogan/Rock to go on last but Vince said no.
