God the abc halftime show is dreadful. The only guy there with an opinion worth hearing is Simmons and it seems like they give him the fewest opportunities to talk. Jalen and Magic are totally useless as analysts.

I swear since Game 5, Manu and Parker have tried to rig the series....Ive seen some of the dumbest crap from them in the last 5 minutes of each game.

The problem with the Boston Celtics is not with Doc Rivers it's with the organization. You wanna know why Doc Rivers keeps KG and Pierce starting with the most minutes? Because they're the best players. The problem is, you just can't stick young guys in there more if they don't play well. Being young doesn't mean you're better. When KG is out of the game, the Celtics generally don't score as well. The Celtics should have built around KG and Pierce (and Allen) rather than trying to build for a future squad with no real direction. Take a look at the championship contender Spurs as a pure contrast to the Boston Celtics organization. They've got a squad that's championship worthy on and off the bench. The older guys play as well as ever because they can rest without worry, as the bench is equally good. They've built an incredible team up. Doc Rivers knows that Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce still have legs and if they went to a team with a deeper squad he could easily get them another ring. The Boston Celtics organization has been so poor in getting young TALENT, and instead just gets young PLAYERS. Just because someone is young, does not mean they're better. In the same right, the Celtics organization is in a crapty position for cap-space because KG and Pierce are eating up so much of it...they'd both need to take a huge hit in order to get any other major talented players...they made the right moves with Jeff Green, Avery Bradley, but they've made a lot of stupid ones. Brandon Bass for Glen Davis didn't work out as well as it could have, even though Bass has produced, Davis has grown into somewhat of a main-player in Orlando (not saying much, because their team sucks, but he's better there). If we had kept Davis and he had gotten in shape like he wanted, he probably could've produced a lot more than Bass. The Boston Celtics need a better bench is all, that way Pierce and KG don't have to push for 40 minutes every single game. Duncan and Parker played 40 minutes in the finals but they weren't the only guys pushing. Two of their bench players played almost as much as the other starters, and produced...whereas with the Celtics have all five starters playing close to 40 minutes and everyone else playing maybe 15-20 minutes. I agree with some of this. The Spurs started retooling quite some time ago preparing for the decline of their core and now have a nice balanced roster. They draft well and even more importantly they coach even better getting the best out of their players. Boston started too late, but I can't say they haven't drafted well. Bradley was a nice get and I like Sullinger too. Spurs loaded up on shooters, size and versatility while Boston lacks size and shooting despite being a jump shooting team. The big difference though is the core itself. 1. Tony Parker just turned 31 and is currently better than anything Boston has on it's roster. He's arguably a top 10 player in this league. He's been an MVP caliber player these past few seasons. 2. Tim Duncan is a low post player, KG is a stretch 4. There's still very few guys in this league that can work the block and are as crafty around the basket as Duncan. Duncan is also better in nearly every statistical category than Kevin. His win shares are still remarkably high at .191, KG's are .133. Manu and Pierce almost look equally washed up to me. More so Manu, but still game to game there's not enough consistency there. They're still capable of having big games, but not enough to matter. Should probably check Pierce's stats before saying hes washed up. Just because he was tired and worn out in the playoffs doesnt mean "hes washed up", he carried the Celtics after Rondo got hurt. 19 points, 6 boards, 6 assists a game. I have no idea what Manu did, but Pierce isnt washed up. Not even close. Rajon Rondo is a franchise player, no need to argue with Parker and Rondo but not like the cupboard is bare with Rondo there, hes a top 5 point guard. The comparison for Duncan and KG is kinda pointless, considering KG has been playing out of position out of necessity and Duncan hasnt. Duncans awesome, and I cant argue but to compare someone like Garnett who has been injured and playing out of position, doesnt make sense to me. San Antonio drafted better than the Celtics, thats why they continued to have this dynasty. RC Buford is better than Danny Ainge too. Spurs also got their case together at a young age, the Celtics didnt. Another gigantic difference. I dunno, I just dont see the similiarities at all or the comparison or actually the need to bring up the Spurs talking about the Celtics.

Pretty sure those little aliens from Space Jam stole Manu's playing ability.

Congrats to the Heat, but I really wish Manu didn't hand them the title.

Sucks that the Heat won, but was expected after game 6. Spurs had their chance and blew it. Heat played good D tonight and had great outside shooting.
Spurs did a good job of keeping it close considering Parker is ineffective with James guarding him, Manu makes mistake after mistake with a few good plays sprinkled in, and Danny Green stunk in games 6/7. Should have played Diaw more.
Finally, I agree that the ABC pre/half coverage is terrible. I watched some of the NBA TV Pre game today and it was a little better. I hate Bill Simmons's voice. I do like some of his columns though. Rose is terrible, Wilbon isn't much better, and I respect Magic a ton but he can't assist that crew.

The Spurs ed themselves in game 6 by stupid decisions and missed free throws.

Rose and Simmons are excellent, but the rest of the guys have no chemistry and the entire crew suffers.

I find Simmons to be the most annoying one on there.. but I like it for some sadistic reason
this was an amazing finals to watch.. so much fun until the end..
the better team won, and I have learned to respect LeBron so much now..

the Heat are just so hateable....in every way. but its ok because ESPN, SI, the NBA all got what they wanted. golden child gets his 2nd trophy and 2nd MVP, and they can continue to talk about how great he is and how much better he is than everyone else for the next 3 months. oh and you, ray allen.

I know the Spurs have had their day in the sun, but it was still heartbreaking to see them fall apart at the end. Bad turnovers and Timmy missing the lay up and the put back....ugh. That was hard to watch.
LeBron James was awfully good, I could have done without the smug double trophy pose, but there's no denying he's the man.

Bill Simmons is a bigger fraud than Lebron, who is still a douche, but the greatest player out there right now.

Let the anti-LeBron butthurt commence...
But Chris Bosh not recording a point after winning game 6 with his defense is the most Chris Bosh-like thing I've ever seen.

How do you get a better bench and consequently a better future complimentary cast if your idiot coach never plays them. Shav Randolph never seen the light of day in the playoffs this year despite proving a servicable rebounder and scorer down the stretch. fab Melo tore up the D league only to ride the pine when called up. The year before, Bradley rode the pine until Allen got hurt. Sure, Shave and Fab maybe aren't household names but neither were guys like Bonner, splitter, neal, or Danny Green. But you know what happened, they got hooked up with a coach that accentuated their talent, was willing to groom them, and will to properly monitor his big 3's minutes to the point that he simultaneously preserved his core and built his bench/future. And yes, Doc got Sully in there for a struggling Bass, but he actually played Sully, and it worked out. You never know what you have until you get the guys some gametime work. Agreed Boston's hand's a re tied with cap space, etc, but that aside, Doc is a poor coach. A players coach sure, and x's and O's coach...LMAO. He's been exposed the last 3 years and I hope he moves on.

I'll give miami and especially Lebron james their props. They earned their title this year. And while I could not stomach watching the coronation, from the rally in game 6 to Lebron's dominance down the stretch in game 7, they showed why they were the better. No espn for me for the next 3 months until the heat suck fest dies down, thank god. Congrats to Manu for being the MVP
