I was away from wrestling during these years and watching some of the old ppvs tonight i really miss this cruiserweight division and the talent they had, where did it all go?

They started having the more popular cruiser weights wrestle heavyweights and the title slowly started to matter less. Eventually it just faded and died.

Guessing they didn't had that many cruiserweights....
For the most part...now is a great time to bring it back. I would love to see it in NXT.

The audience really seemed to stop caring about the division, not to mention the division itself was never that great in WWE. By that I mean it was never showcased the way it was in WCW. There didn't seem to be a need for it any longer. I think it was kind of a blessing because it allowed smaller wrestlers to compete for bigger championships without being relegated to the cruiserweight division.

They gave it to Horswoggle and totally killed any sort of credibility the title had left. Then they just dropped it.

Rey Mysterio, arguably the most popular Cruiserweight, won the freaking HEAVYWEIGHT championship......There was absolutely no point in the title after that.

Yea, i know its wrestling guys and anyone can lay down for a smaller guy but i think it hurts the product. I dont know if its cos im old school but it doesnt sell. Even a kid cant buy it, i remember my wee cousin he was like 9 or so at the time and it was kane against mysterio im not sure but he said this is just stupid kane could kill him. Thats coming from a kid so dear knows how many others think the same. I think put the smaller guys together and the bigger guys together. When you see i dunno evan bourne or someone against a guy like 6'5 or so its like cmon give me a break this is even too much for me. I think the reason Benoit, dynamite and all got away with it was because they were juiced to the gills, that it made up for their lack of stature and made it somewhat believable but now the guys are so small, their in great shape but lean you know. I dunno i cant buy it.

Probably because a lot of the moves and sequences were deemed to dangerous and they definitely didn't want kids at home trying to pull them off.

This may be the case, but do you see the main event guys continually flying off of the top ropes or tower of dooms? It's called high risk for a reason, and cruiserweight wrestling really pushes those limits.

I think Vince just simply grew tired of the division. His giving of the title to Hornswoggle was meant to be the closure of the Cruiserweights. I miss the high flyers.

Now is the best time for it. Guys like Evan Bourne, Kofi Kingston, Sin Cara, Adrian Neville, and Daniel Bryan could easily bring prestige to the title.

Forget the Cruiserweight division. I want the juniors division back.

garbage marketing and stars bombing from the wwe style switch would be my take. those cruiserweight scramble matches at wrestlemania didn't establish stars but instead disorient the fans and diffuse the action.
baaaaad marketing. not enough focus. not a good concept other than "young guys flying around at the beginning of the card.' no place to go from there.
jamie knoble is one of the few wwe cruiserweight success stories, and even he fell off their wagon on and off.
