This happened to me last night. A few days ago I found an Elite 18 Undertaker on Ebay for £10 & free postage, a good price so I put in my bid. Nobody else was bidding, only me so it seemed certain I would get it. The final day came & still no bidders so I took for granted that it was mine. Wrong. The bidding ended at 11:30pm or so & about half an hour before Raw I decided to check my emails so I could go ahead & pay for my item. I open my inbox & am greeted with an email notifying me that I had been out bidded: some vulture had swooped in on the final minute & out bidded my by FIFTY ING PENCE! God I was pissed at the sneakiness, I'll just buy it later in the week at it's usual price. Any similar Ebay stories?

It never happened to me as I buy, buy it now stuff usually. Although I had a jolly good time watching people bid a bunch the final 30 seconds on a loaf of bread when Wonder bread went out of business. I had like 4-5 loaves but I wanted to eat them. I did. ITS BREAD!!!

I got outbid on a ToyBiz Jeff Hardy figure about 2 months ago. $0.50 too. I ended up doing a BIN for $20 a few days later, MOC and free shipping.

That's why you put in your max bid during the last ten seconds, if its at 15 dollars and you put your max at 30 then everytime they bid it will outbid them until they keeping bidding over 30 or put in a max higher than 30, pretty hard to do in 10 seconds. I'm pretty good with eBay bids, I haven't lost a bid in a very long time, I buy alot of stuff on eBay.

I've had it happen so many times over the years, and when it happens I usually pray that the person that did it gets struck by lightning. It is infuriating.

Yea I've had it, but I've also been very lucky on eBay getting some really hard to come by pieces and some signed figures too for a real low price.

Of course! You can't win them all. Recently I was in a bidding war for a couple autographed 8x10s. I wanted pictures of Jericho, Naomi, McIntyre, and Ziggler. I went 2-2 [Naomi and Ziggler] so I considered that a success. Not that I should have bought all 4 anyways; I can get carried away sometimes.

I swoop in at the last seconds to bid, nothing wrong with it.

I'm a sniper, I always bid at the last second possible to make sure I don't push the price up. But I have been outsniped a few times.

I used to always get bid last second. Now lately I have ended up bidding in the battle and pay way too much!

The only way to shop on ebay is to wait till the last second and then bid. Bidding before that just makes prices go up.

ebay has worked that way for a decade. Honestly, I don't get caught up in it. If there is an item I want, I bid the maximum amount I am willing to pay for it. If I get outbid, then so be it.
