thanks to PJ's thread about finding Basic 29 at TRU i was able to pick up these 4 figures from 3 different TRUs in my area, this was 1 of the few sets in the last few years that I didn't immediately pre-order when Ringside put them up, partially because the initial names in the set didn't scream out to me BUY NOW because I have so many of them already, but over the last month or so since Ringside got their initial shipment in and we got to see how the figures looked I've been anxiously waiting for this set.
Basic 29
Big Show
the new headscan is awesome, finally an angry heel scan after a year with that smiling scan. My biggest complaint is that it still drives me absolutely nuts that Mattel has not made a big enough closed fist to give to Big Show, makes the figure feel incomplete to me.
John Cena
its few and far between where a Mattel John Cena actually interests me, this was 1 of them. I like having the most updated release of all superstars and to have a Cena in khaki's finally is a good thing for my collection, the green gear was starting to piss me off.
CM Punk
I hate that they re-used the attire, I like all the Punks in my collection to stand out from one another and having the same gear kind of bothers me a bit, I might acetone the kickers to give him his solid black kicker look to make this figure stand out a little more. As for the scan its nice, not the best but still decent.
Ultimate Warrior
love the color scheme for this figure, I feel like I remember someone on here making an elite custom of this exact attire, makes me wish this were the Legends 4 color scheme.
Also quick fun story about finding this figure, I had gone to 2 TRUs prior to the 1 where I found this and all they had was Cena, Punk and Show at all of them, I got to this last TRU and they had the same 3 again, but after walking around the isle for a few minutes I decided to peek behind a few of the Basic Ring boxes and Brawlin' Buddies, and BOOM there was Ultimate Warrior hidden behind a Power Slammers ring! I usually NEVER find a figure that way, so while I felt bad that I snagged it from someone who hid it, I am very happy to have it and not have to go crazy looking for it along with Eddie & Austin.
also picked this up a few days ago, can't wait for the movie!
