I don't get the not selling to collectors rule. It usually depends on the store. My Target used to be one that had issues at their store opening every day. They had collectors that literally ran all the way to the back of the store, elbowing each other out of the way, and threw unwanted cars and figures on the floor as they went through the pegs looking for that one 'rare' figure to sell on Ebay. They changed to randomly shelf the car & figure aisles throughout the day, and the same people went every couple of hours harassing the employees to constantly check the back the back, even though the employees were instructed not to.

I don't get the not selling to collectors rule. "Sorry, we don't want you to repeatedly drop giant loads of money at this store! Go buy multiples of the same thing at our competitor." I was at a TRU when the Teddy BAF hit, they had everybody but Randy, I asked a worker if he could check other stores... His response was... "sure, you collectors are our bread and butter, we have to take care of people like you." I thought that was awesome he said that and now if I ever need anything he always is very helpful.

I also saw this first hand when I worked at KB toys - the worst guy (one of the Target regulars) tried to get me fired when I told him we didn't have any more McFarlane sports figures in our back room (we really didn't although if we did I would have told him the same thing if we did). He complained to my manager that I wouldn't go run to the back for him, and my manager put him in his place because he said we didn't have any, and we know the stock so I didn't have to go in back to check for him. What an asshat, and I completely understand Target's policy in this case.

Because some collectors get seriously out of hand. In terms of literally running to the toy asile as soon as the store opens, and picking fights with each other. Rearrange or move stuff through out the store trying to make the shelf look empty trying to get it restocked. The K-Mart I used to work at implemented a Hot Wheels and Star Wars figures wouldn't be stocked over night, but a random point in the day policy. Since a older guy who was an overly obsessed collector literally shoved a kid down to get to the rarer Hot Wheels. I know this particular guy ended up getting him self banned from the Wal-Mart and Meijer near by as well. It's better for the store to sell smaller quantities to people then risk getting sued. Especially on things such as Hot Wheels that will move no matter what because they're cheap and kids love them.

Best thing in the world is when it says "in stockroom?-yes"
I do it all the time. I usually tAke a basic and an elite and just go scan in. Then if I get a "yes", find an employee and wait for my fresh case of figs!

I don't think it's so much that they don't want to sell to collectors -- it's just the problems that stem off of collectors only wanting/buying the "rare" stuff. People fighting over product, or like previously mentioned, there's some douchebags out there that shove little kids down or out of the way just to get a ing toy. An employee at one of my TRU stores told my friend that he couldn't buy a complete set of figures at one time because it "doesn't allow kids the chance to get the figures they want from the set" and she told him to pick a few figures out and he could "come back later that day to buy the rest, if they are still here". I ended up going into the store for him to buy the rest of the set. He went in the next week and when he saw her, he said "I have arrived, the killer of kid's dreams".

Of all the times I've used the scanner at Target, not once did it ever say "In stockroom: Yes"

The Target find in store failed me today. I've been checking for Elites and DC Unlimited figures daily. And every morning they showed out of stock for my 3 closest stores. Well today on showed Elites in stock. So I text my friend who works there at 7:30 and ask if they had E21 HTM. His reply was 2 series 21 Rey 1 series 21 Del Rio 1 series 21 Orton 3 series 20 Christian
Nothing else in stockroom. So where the hell did the three Christian figures come from as they had zero stock as of closing last night...and what happened to HTM, Ryback & AJ? Again had nothing in stock as of last night at closing and I talked to my friend 15 minutes before they opened.
Is Target now sending product from store to store? I know they used to do that with new stores to get product on the shelves of the new store faster. It just seem odd that overnight they went from nothing to 3 FB series 20 Christian and half of E21
Anyway I just thought it was really odd

I know. It was really baffling how that happened. Anyway I went and picked up the Orton. Now I just need to find HTM (2) as I have my two Ortons now.

My Target looks like that about 95% of the time. :/
Thanks for the tip. I had no idea! Does it work other places besides Target?

It just seem odd that overnight they went from nothing to 3 FB series 20 Christian and half of E21 Anyway I just thought it was really odd Someone could have bought the AJ/Ryback/HTM and returned 3 Christian figures. All of the Elites are tied to one item number. I have actually done this before with an Elite 19 Lesnar that I bought for a friend, and he ended up getting one before I could give mine to him, and I had misplaced my receipt, so I just bought a figure that I wanted (E19 Liz) and returned the Lesnar with the 'new' receipt. Also, if I recall correctly, the stock locator/on hand numbers aren't always 100% correct as they are monitored/maintained by the backroom/in-stocks team. There is always room for human error. If the store is on top of it, it's usually fixed fairly quickly so the order for more stock can be put in, but yeah.. the element of human error is always there.

I thought that for a second, but like I said... First my friend works in that dept and has been keeping an eye peeled for me. (he always texts me when they get in the stuff I am looking for) and secondly they had nothing in stock the day before when I was there and when I checked at closing. So someone buying them/ returning 3 Christians was unlikely as the store was closed still when he told me what they had. So unless it was an over night employee I doubt that would be the case. It's just odd.

You also can scan the barcode on the figure box.
