Not sure if this is public knowledge or not, so I thought I'd share. We've all been on the hunt only to find this sorry site at Target: If you're like me you may wonder if they have any stock in back that they haven't put out yet. Well, here's how you can find out. Take the Target price tag of the item you're looking for (the one that shows where the item should be): And take it to one of the price scanners found throughout the store. Scan the Target price tag there: Wait a few seconds and read the info that comes up. It will have a line that reads, "In stockroom". If it says "No" (like in the pic) then you're out of luck. But if it says "Yes", ask an employee to bring it out for you. Now, this doesn't just work if the shelves are bare. This works if there are figures on the shelves (Cena, Rey, Orton . . .) and you want to know if there are any more in the back. I know isn't too helpful if they're out of stock, but hopefully someone will be able to find what they're looking for one day using this tip. Hope this helps!

but not all targets will go into the back... mine used to have a manager that " tried" to stop scalping... couldnt buy multiple of one toy... couldnt get employees to go to the back for items... even if the shelf was bear...
they left... the multiple rule went bye bye... but for a year or two they left the tags up on the shelves stating they wouldnt go to the back for "collectables" these tags were at marvel , wwe, lego , diecast..
now, they will look in the back if you find someone who is willing to take a second...

of all the times i scanned the tag, only once did it say "in stock".. most of the time it's out of stock... but it's a good tip to show the employees that there are back stock... some are just too lazy to look.

^ well flex force aren't in production anymore. Mine Target at least put all those on clearance and they are gone. So perhaps it wont be an issue for too long.

Technically, the employees are instructed not to look for "collectors".
Most of the local employees around here though apparently don't care and will look for you regardless.

I knew this, but I've never once scanned a figure and have it say there are more in back.

Boy, first it's self check-out, now I have to stock the shelves for them, too.
What's next - should I mop the floors at Target too?
We shouldn't have to go to this much trouble just to get these products...
But seriously - thanks for the tip - I did not know about this...

I didn't know if you could do that. Thanks. I'm gonna try it at some other stores too.

That's an old scanner. The ones around here have the keypads on the side where you can just type in the DPCI number. Hell I don't even do that anymore. I just type the DPCI in the search on their website and then do the find in stores option. If the store says... Out of stock - I pass on going to that store LIMITED STOCK - I pass if it's a mixed assortment line, but go if it's not a mixed assortment (limited stock usually means about 3) IN STOCK - I go to that store.
Saves alot of time and gas as I can check stock for all Targets in a 50 mile radius within seconds.

I don't get the not selling to collectors rule.
"Sorry, we don't want you to repeatedly drop giant loads of money at this store! Go buy multiples of the same thing at our competitor."

I wonder how many people's Targets look like that? Mine sure do.
And I would like to know why, too.
If they don't put out new Basic figures until June 16th, the day after their "sale", I'm gonna be pissed.
