Hey all,
I'm not a huge legends collector in the sense that I don't feel the need to have them all like some other figures, however I do want to have a decent size collection of them, more so the ones I remember from when I'd watch it with my parents and such.
My question is, with Jake Roberts being one of those legends that I remember (my mother was a huge fan of his due to her love of snakes. I remember I bought her the CS figure for Christmas one year), I wanted to finally add one to my collection. However, which one is more accurate, or I guess the better term would be, more iconic? The Legends or the All Stars?
Not sure why I never grabbed one. Probably because I only recall seeing the All Stars one, and I wasn't about to buy another Orton. But looking around I definitely think it's time, and I'd like to get the one that best or better shows him off in his prime.
Thanks for any and all replies!

I had both, but when I decided to keep only one, I chose the All-Stars one.
the All-Stars tights are typical of what he wore from his debut in 1986 til late 1991 - a solid color with a snake on one or both legs.the Legends 2 version, while cool looking,he basically only used from like Sept/Oct of 1991 til February of 1992. hell, when he appeared on the Funeral Parlor in Feb. 1992 :
and his last original run match vs Taker at Mania VIII, he was back to the original style tights:
so the All-Stars style is definitely his more well-known,and used, style of outfit.

No doubt the allstars one. Def more iconic.

AS for sure. Not only for the look of the tights, but you get the trademark python and snake bag as opposed to the cobra, which he only used in his final heel run in the fall of 91.

All stars. While the attire is definitely iconic, its the superior Jake because it comes with Damien.

I had both and ended up keeping the AS version. It's just how I most remember him and it's iconic Jake. I do love the heel RR92 attire though, a lot. You really can't go wrong with either imo. I would say the black is more badass and the teal is more iconic. So go with what you like. Damien coming with the AS version is admittedly a pretty big factor as well if you ask me but that's all relative to if you are going to display him with the snake.

B Dubya, believe it or not this is one of the decisions that tormented me in my Legends collecting - I only wanted one version and I just couldn't decide between the two available. I liked the '92 Jake because the tights are triple-toned and the design is awesome - very unique looking on the shelf in a sea of red and black figure attires. he came with a cobra which was a highlight angle against neon cowboy Macho Man. I even gave him an Undertaker gloved-hand like he wore to handle his cobra but... All-Stars Jake was in his classic green tights, came with Damien, who doesn't remember Damien?!! I also remembered Jake with his big python and the classic look, while simple, won me over too. Again another unique colour on the shelf among a sea of red and black figure attires. In the end I went with All-Stars Jake because he also came with the sack to hold Damien and strap over his shoulder which looks awesome. Hope that helps.

Personally I like the Legends figure better. When I think of Jake's tights I expect to see a giant snake wrapped around his legs but the All Stars one just has his face on the side, which is accurate but not as cool IMO. The Cobra and the flames on the Legends figure just seems more cool

I used my Legends Jake to make into a more modern looking Jake using a Volkoff torso and crotch, and painted shins from another figure to bring the height up. I still need to paint the crotch and add body hair, and finally add some grey to his hair and moustache. Not accurate but I like it. I am hunting down the legends figure though as I love the colour of that attire.

All stars was always my favourite, mainly because its the one I had. But being honest, I didn't like the legends attire.

This is off topic, but I'm thinking the Legends Jake would make a great Terry Funk custom. I'm assuming the tights were molded in black... am I correct? Thanks in advance.
IMO, the Legends Jake looks more appealing but judging by the replies the AS one is more popular. I guess that's why that one is going for a hefty price on ebay these days.

They are both great, cant go wrong with either one. I wouldnt mind seeing a 3rd Jake come out down the road somewhere in the line.

It's difficult now though as Flashbacks are struggling especially in Roberts era. Plus we still need a decent Roddy Piper and Elite M$M from that era.

As others have said, definitely the All-Stars one. The green tights are just fitting for a man called The Snake, and the accessories (Damien and his sack) are perfect for a representation of Jake in his prime years.

I found my all-stars Jake "The Snake" Roberts for $3 at a used toy shop.... Also and E3 Miz.... No accessories for either one though....... Been trying to get on the owners good side get at those accessories!! The guy has a nice setup and has nothing but toys.... I'd challenge anyone to go in there and not buy anything!
