Very pleased with the defensive display against Norwich. Held well when Sagbo was dismissed. Norwich were pretty poor though. 3 points in the bag though, bring on Manchester City!

Solid performance again from us. Still need that creative spark in between midfield and attack, so fingers crossed someone will be brought in for that job.

Pleased with the win yesterday. Sturridge goal was quality. Was unsure about Mignolet and although its early doors he hasn't put a foot wrong. Made some great saves yesterday.
Surprised City lost today but fair play to Cardiff, defended well and took their chances. Fully expect them to stay up.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again. Sunderland were fools to let go of Frazier Campbell.
Good win for Cardiff, they deserved it. I think people have written off the three promoted sides way too early.

Hull and Crystal Palace might as well be down already as both just do not have very good squads. End of. I think Cardiff will comfortably stay up, though.

Great win for Cardiff and chuffed to bits for Fraizer Campbell. Y2J, you might want to blame your dear favourite Martin O'Neill for trying to ruin his career by turning him into an impact substitute but in completely the wrong position (right wing). His contract was running down anyway but don't blame him for making the move, don't think he'll be as good throughout the season as he was today though.
I hope for his sake, Joe Hart is dropped next week. Been completely out of form for nearly a year now, I guess you've got to blame both his club and country though for literally having no competition for him.

Hart is utter dogsh*te. Delighted he has once again cocked up, hopefully he won't be so obscenely overrated this season. I don't even dislike him like I do most City players; he seems like a good bloke, and he clearly has talent (2011/12 proved that), but the complete lack of competition for him has clearly harmed his development. Can easily name 5 PL gks better than him at the moment, let alone 5 in the world. If he got back to where he was and then continued improving down that path he could be top 2 or 3 in the PL, but right now he's not even close, and hasn't been for a year.

"If Mancini and I were still at Man City this year Joe Hart wouldn't be there. We made a decision to sign Asmir Begovic." - David Platt.
So it's interesting to know they seemed to lose paitence with Hart themselves. Not sure if signing Begovic would be the right answer though, vastly overrated.

Begovic would've been good if they believed that Hart still had it in him to be a top 'keeper, and just needed a push. Begovic could do a job when asked but Hart would know that if he reached the level he was capable of he would get a starting spot again.

I was at Reading festival but I have seen the highlights. Yet another great day to be a Cardiff fan. Very proud.
The atmosphere was immense and we played really well. I back Frazier to get a lot of goals this season. He tormented the City defence.
Lets not get too carried away though!

What a crape game. Still, Wayne looked good. Hoping Mata benched means Jose doesn't want him, would love it if we said no about Wayne and then bought Mata off them (as I'm sure Jose would want to sell for a decent bid if he doesn't want him).

I had a Man Utd fan seriously suggest to me today that they could line up with a midfield and attack like this: Carrick Fellaini Ronaldo Mata Bale van Persie And it wasn't even Mike!

Vidic would break Bale's jaw with his open palm.

That wasn't as bad as the Manchester derby at the Etihad in 2010/2011 season, but it was still one of the most boring games between the big clubs I've seen in quite awhile (no game will ever be worse than Stoke v Aston Villa from Boxing Day 2011). Both teams never really looked like they wanted to win the game. Can see most of the big games being like that this season, to be honest.

The overhead kick at OT that season made up for it though

Last nights game was much like when Chelsea faced Man City at SB last season. The odd chance but that was it.
Still think we should of played Lukaku up front, he's still the most on form striker at Chelsea atm. was on fire end of last season and even in pre season.

If anyone expected last night's game to be anything other than what it was is silly. Very early in the Season, both Teams didn't want to lose or take chances, so a draw was inevitable. I would't say we set out with a defensive line up just because we had Schurrle up front. I think the idea was that we could get a draw but could also nick a win too on the break with the front 4 all interchanging. Thought the decision to bring on Torres instead of Lukaku was a strange one though, 20 minutes to go and United's centre backs would of been tired, he could of been a handful for them and held up the ball for the three behind. As for Mata, I think the reason behind it was simple. We were away at Old Trafford, Jose didn't want us taking risks with the Full Backs overlapping and attacking so we went for De Bruyne and Hazard on the wings who offer more width than Mata. Oscar works harder in the middle than Mata too.
Hard game Friday for us now against Bayern.

I do think Jose played for a point, although not because of Schurrle, but rather just the way that Chelsea were happy to sit back but never seemed to counter with any real urgency. I'd expect more from a team with the attacking quality of Chelsea, but I suppose that's just Jose really. Hopefully as the season goes on he'll attack more or we could be seeing one of the dullest title challenging teams ever.
