I for one would have thought that punk's return would have been a surprise. it's kinda weird that he is going against jericho, especially since everyone thought he was going to become face again.

We'll see how it all plays out, but I love when him and Jericho work together. It does seem like a random angle though, but in all fairness, Jericho was calling himself the Best In The World, long before Punk was. However, a person dubbing themselves that isn't original at all and at the end of the day, Daniel Bryan is a better wrestler than either of them.

Like I said in the other thread...the whole thing seems so random and rushed. We've already had the battle for who is the Best in the World. This is just role reversal from Wrestlemania 28. Jericho is the face now and Punk is the heel.
I'd rather Punk be out longer if it means him coming back with a lot of steam and a good angle. I'll wait and see how it plays out, but a match negotiated by Jericho and Heyman on a highlight reel isn't the dramatic surprise return I envisioned for Punk.
And like I said, regardless of how it plays out, WE'VE SEEN THIS BEFORE. Who really was the "Best in the World" was the premise for their Title feud a year ago...Punk won all their matches. I don't have a problem with Punk and Jericho WRESTLING, as the matches are sure to be fantastic...put the reasoning for the match is weak. They already feuded over who the Best in the World was. If they are going to feud again, at LEAST have it be about something DIFFERENT!

My initial feeling is that it's both a way to bring Punk back in (bit too quick if you ask me) and a way to write Jericho out if he's leaving again soon. And they know any feud/match these two have will be good without trying.
Don't ask me yet how it'd write Jericho out, just got that feeling.

I'm glad he's coming back. I just wish it had been a surprise so I could have that genuine mark out moment.

Maybe it's just a one night come back since it's a PPV in Chicago. I can see him losing to Jericho, then after the match Heyman loses it on Punk for losing so much lately and slaps him or something, and Punk looks all dejected and stuff again, then goes away some more and continues his vacation till he comes back around Summerslam time as a face to fight either Lesnar, or Curtis Axel at SS. Something along those lines is the only direction I can really see them going with this.
Either way I'm really looking forward to Y2J vs Punk.

I don't like this angle at all. I too wanted his return to be a surprise but I think WWE is doing it to sell more tickets and get the PPV buy-rate up because who honestly wants to see Cena and Ryback again?

Punk's coming back too soon to make any kind of impact on his return (he needed to be gone at least a couple more months). He's missed like 1 PPV. Plus they've announced it beforehand which has just killed any excitement to be had when he did return.
He should have returned at MITB or even Summerslam and interfered in the title match.

It does seem odd...which is why I still have doubts that it might happen. I would've liked it to be a surprise, but I'll take a match between Punk and Jericho any day of the week.

I, like the majority, would've preferred a surprise return, but if it means Punk is back on my TV, I certainly won't complain. I do think this will be the end of Heyman and Punk since Heyman agreed to the match without Punk's consent.

Punk is not coming back for the PPV, This is the start of Punk turning face and facing Brock Lesnar at Summer Slam.

What does this mean for Punk?
It means that he won't be at Payback.

I don't know how much longer Jericho's sticking around for, but I could see him taking the loss and this being his out. Whatever the case is, I'm just beyond happy that he'll be back.

I'm looking forward to his return and match against Chris Jericho, but it seems too soon and not the way I would have brought him back.

I agree with lorenzo, I'm stoked for the feud, but we've seen this already. At least when Shawn Michales and Jericho feuded for the 2nd time it was for a different reason.

I really don't see him showing up. It'll be a no show, with Heyman replacing Punk with Axel.
