I hate when WWE spoil their own shows.
I imagine Kofi is off to spend time with his wife and baby.
I hope he returns to win SmackDowns Money in the Bank ladder match.

Hopefully he'll come back with a fresher character. Maybe a heel turn.

The time off can only be good for him. As of late he's just been wandering, before & after winning the US title. He's got a newborn he can spend some time with & it can freshen him up.

It's not like he's gonna do anything important when he comes back anyway.
Hopefully I'm wrong.

I have nothing against Kofi as a talent, and I don't wish harm on him, but I can't help but feel that this injury is a good thing.
For far too long, Kofi has been put on a (some would say undeserved) pedestal above the rest of the midcard faces, despite not being given much else, and hopefully being out for 4-8 weeks (preferably 8), will force WWE to push other midcard faces. There really SHOULDN'T be a "King of the Midcard". It's time for guys like Santino, Justin Gabriel, Zack Ryder, Ted DiBiase, or Alex Riley to get a chance to prove themselves and be booked credibly.

WWE isn't going to use this opportunity to push another mid carder...they'll take the segments where Kofi's matches usually are and have Brodus and Tensai dance.

I hate to even say it, but I'm glad he's hurt and need some time off. If only to help his career. He has literally been treading water since losing the tag titles w/ Truth. Going out, having the exact same matches every week.
Some time off will give the fans a chance to "forget"....thus setting up a potential big return storyline for the guy. Maybe a new hairstyle, new something. It's the perfect opportunity to get him away from the routine. I wish Kofi a speedy recovery, however and I'm sure he'll enjoy having a break.

Kofi could really use a bit of time off. Absence makes the heart go fonder and all that. Hopefully he comes back fresh with a renewed push forward

Less Kofi on my TV is generally a good thing, but if he is hurt, you hate to see that. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

Hope this injury rejuvenates him and maybe upon his return he'll have some kind of a new storyline, character, etc. Just something to mix it up a bit. He's a great athlete, but he has just gotten way too stale for my liking.

I'm all about him returning in 8 weeks with Bourne... return of Air Boom! They were great together and the WWE need more solid tag teams.

I hope when he returns he goes on a winning streak and wins the wwe title. For the freshening up I'd just have him show more aggression, show anger about where his career has gone, and dye his hair blue and yellow streaked. I think if he died his hairs to something really flamboyant similar to a mask adds charachter that he could appear as more of a super hero. I know Jeff Hardy dyes his hair, however his is mostly brunet with streaks. I want Kofi's dyed into mainly blue with streaks of gold and or red.

Kofi the new Gold Standard maybe idk

While it sucks he is hurt at least he has more time to spend with his new child.
It isn't like he is doing much atm anyways so it would have been nice to get time off without being hurt.

I'm in agreement with those saying a break could be good for him. IMO, Kofi Kingston, more than anyone else on the roster today, is a victim of lazy booking. He's clearly talented and can do some cool stuff in the ring, yet virtually every Kofi Kingston match is the same. He'll get beat up a bit, before flying off of the top rope or springing in from the apron, landing his Signatures, going for TIP, missing, then either A) hitting it from nowhere shortly after or B) losing shortly after. Honestly, if you really think about I think it's worse in Kofi's case than anybody else. He also relies too heavily on strikes and barely ever uses an actual grapple, hold or slam.
In terms of his storylines and character development, well there never is any progression in either aspect. He jobs, he wins a no.1 contender match for a mid-card title, he usually wins said title, he holds it for a few weeks while maybe only defending it once, then he loses it to the next up-and-coming Heel. He's done that for best part of his WWE tenure.
I actually think Kofi himself has worked pretty hard and has done well to get over as well as he has without ever being given a good storyline, any good rivalries outside of the one against Orton in 09, or hardly any mic time. He's managed to become fairly popular just by doing flashy stuff in the ring, which is good for him.
