Towards the end of 2006 was an interesting time for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. They came close to sealing a deal to bring in Kurt Angle, nut negotiations fell through last minute, and they missed out on getting the biggest aquisition in company history. Also, Sting had notified the company that when his contract expired on January 1, 2007, that he would not be resigning, as he didn't want to wrestle full time anymore. Sting did say he would be willing to return to work Bound For Glory near the end of the year however, but nevertheless, losing Sting as a full time worker was not good news. To add further troubles, Spike TV, while happy with Impact after striking the TV deal, flat refused to give TNA a two hour timeslot as they had been pushing for, not wanting to give them so much time. To make matters even worse, the employee morale was at an all time low, with a large portion of the workers unhappy with Jim Cornette. What looked to be the final nail in the coffin was Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett had decided to retire as well after Bound for Glory 2006, and Panda Energy, the majority shareholders of TNA had decided they wanted to sell the company, not believing strongly in it's future prospects. That is where Cameron Stone came in. Cameron Stone was a young entrepreneur from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, who had won the $50 million lottery two years previously, and after some smart investments, had turned that money into signifigantly more. A lifelong wrestling fan, Stone decided to aquire TNA, and on November 3, the deal was sealed. Immediately, Stone appearing on air, announcing himself as the new owner, and he did two major things. He fired Jim Cornette, and he also had the company ditch the NWA World and Tag Team Championships, in favor of new TNA Championship designs. Sting dropped the TNA Championship to Abyss at December's Turning Point PPV, and at the same event, Chris Sabin retained the X-Division Championship against Senshi, and AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels won back the TNA Tag Team Titles from LAX, due to the fact that Hernandez was injured, and needed time off. It was made known that several talents, in particular older ones like Raven and Scott Steiner would be part time workers, coming and going as they liked for programs here and there. Cameron Stone also made it known to the talent he wanted to cooperate with them and the independents, in particular Ring of Honor, and he would be allowing some mid and undercard talent to take breaks from the company to do tours and stints. His reasoning for this was with the one hour timeslot, he'd only be able to make use of some talents at a time anyways, and he didn't want to affect the income and work of those guys. He would coordinate with talent behind the scenes, and made it clear to fans not to worry if there were a few months without certain wrestlers, and that unless a formal annoucement on their release was made, they would likely still be a part of the company. This strategy was also to make a good relationship with companies like Ring of Honor, so that they might lend TNA talent in the future, and left crossover events a possibilty. The biggest change in the company however, was in it's new pricing structure. Stone announced that starting in 2007, with Final Resolution, TNA PPVs would cost only $15 to order, and would be available from cable providers, or as a stream from their website. He reasoned that it would be better to sell more shows at the smaller price point than trying to make the $30 a show model work given the lower buyrates. He said that curious fans would be more willing to give them a shot for $15, and continue to pay. He also announced a TNA on Demand subscription service from their website. This would be at a cost of $25 per month, and would give you access to all PPVs, as well as the full library and back catalouge of previous TNA PPVs, leading back to the companies inception. All current PPVs would be able to be rewatched as many times as the subscriber wanted as well, and would be available on the website within 48 hours of the time of the show. Also, all Impacts would also be available through the service as well, giving the subscriber unprecendented value. As a bonus, it was also announced that anyone who subscribed to this service and stayed subscribed for 6 months would receive two free T-shirts of their choice from TNA's Shop, as well as an autographed photo from a superstar of their choice. With everything on the business side getting sorted out, the chaos in the ring continued, as Samoa Joe, still hot on his unbeaten streak, had entered an all out war with Rhino, and without Jim Cornette, TNA had no Director of Authority. Owner Cameron Stone had attempted an experiment, by almost letting the inmates run the Asylum, with minimal interference from himself, only making certain matches, but as the compay seemed to be getting out of control, Cameron Stone warned the roster that he would not have a second thought about bringing in someone to at least make it guided chaos. Nobody listened, however, and the last straw was when attempting to mediate a situation between Rhino and Samoa Joe on the final Impact before Final Resolution, Cameron Stone ended up on the receiving end of a brutal Gore. Stone, clutching his ribs, grabbed a microphone, and made it known that at Final Resolution, he was going to be naming a new Director of Authority, and that he didn't really give a damn right now if he was biased or fair, stating that he had given the boys a chance, and they left him with no choice. The first PPV of 2007, Final Resolution, kicks off live from the Impact Zone with the commentary team of Don West and Mike Tenay welcoming us to the broadcast. They hype the new On Demand service and lower price point for a couple of minutes, talking about how they are giving more fans than ever the opportunity to join them here tonight. They also announce that Shark Boy vs Senshi took place a few minutes ago as a dark match for the live crowd, and for anyone wanting to watch it, it would be posted to TNa's youtube channel for everyone to watch absolutely free! Then, they say that things will be kicking off in a big way here in 2007, with the first match of the night being the Tag Team Title match!TNA Tag Team Championship AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels (c) vs. The James GangThis was a smart way to start the show, as it showcased two of the most well known and talented original TNA gus against one of the more well known veteran tag teams to the casual fans. These guys were never gonna tear the house down, but they put on a solid if unspectacular match to kick things off. BG got in his shake, rattle and roll spot, and the story of the match seemed to be the teamwork of the James Gang being what kept them in the match, but ultimately, Kip fell to a Styles Clash/Best Moonsault Ever combo to take the fall and let Styles and Daniels retain! Winners: AJ Styles & Christopher DanielsEric Young vs. Bobby RoodeThis wasn't an extremely long match, and it seemed to be more of a way to put over Roode, as you could tell by it that the company must be high on him, though he has a while to go before being a more serious contender. Roode controlled the match for the most part, with Young getting a couple of mini flurries of offense here and there, but Roode was always able to put and end to it pretty quickly, and the finish came with Roode countering a suplex into a pay off for the victory. Winner: Bobby RoodeTNA Owner Cameron Stone made his way down to the ring, and thanked everyone in the crowd for coming tonight, and everyone watching on PPV for ordering. He said that it was his goal to make TNA as big as possible, and to take this company to heights it had yet to reach, but to do that, he needed to be able to put a larger focus behind the scenes and running the company. Stone said this, coupled with other investments he had made over the last year, as well as other business's he owned, he simply could not run the day to day operations of the company on a backstage level, and that he needed to find a new Director of Authority. He said he'd love nothing more than to manage TNA, but time wise he couldn't do it, and he wasn't going to overwork himself and half ass it. He said he had looked at a lot of candidates, and he had decided to hire from within rather than bring in someone from outside the company at this time, saying he wanted someone who was familiar with the company and the talent within. Stone stressed that this was not a guaranteed position, and that if he felt that individual he has chosen was not performing to his standards, that he would replace him without a second though. He then introduced the new TNA Director of Authority, Kevin Nash! Nash came out to a decent reaction from the crowd, and he grabbed the mic from Stone as he left. Nash said that he would not allow himself to be intimidated by talent, one of the perks of being Kevin Nash. He said if anyone laid their hands on him whether it be out of spite, or anger that he would not stand for it, and he would take them down without any hesitation. He said the time of physically picking on authority figures was done, and that he had better be shown respect. He said his first order of business was to make the main event for the first Impact after this PPV, and that it would be an 6 Man Tag Match, featuring the champions and challengers from tonights Tag Title and World Title matches, AJ Styles, Daniels & Christian Cage vs. The James Gang & Abyss!America's Most Wanted vs. The NaturalsArguably the best tag team in TNA history, AMW, definitely seemed annoyed to be in the match with Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens tonight, clearing believing they should have been involved in the tag team title match, but a large part of this show was to showcase several of the tag teams in the company, and The Naturals were determined to make the most of the chance, getting off to a fast start, not giving AMW a chance to regroup, but eventually, Harris managed to begin wearing Stevens down with a series of headlocks, and AMW began making frequent tags in and isolating him, focusing on the neck and head. Storm went for a neckbreaker on Stevens, but Stevens managed to counter into a neckbreaker of his own, and both guys were down. Both made tags, and Storm and Douglas went back and forth. Despite his pain, Chase Stevens managed to take out Harris with a suicide dive, and Douglas ducked under a lariat attempt by Storm and rolled him up to get the surprise three count! The Naturals retreated up the ramp celebrating the upset, leaving AMW in the ring fuming. Winners: The NaturalsX-Division Championship Chris Sabin (c) vs. Jay Lethal vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Petey WilliamsThis wasn't ever going to be an all time classic X-division match, it was pretty much just a 15 minute spotfest, but it was fun and the live crowd ate it up, and it felt like the perfect spot on the card, it ramped up the energy level, and all the guys in it gave it their all. Lethal looks good but is still looking a little too green to get a run, and Dutt likely isn't really on the title radar, but given that those two are friends and have teamed up before, they used that, early on working together, with Dutt working on Sabin and Lethal on Williams, they eventually threw those two from the ring, leaving them. They shrugged and started throwing down, with Dutt utilizing some kicks to annoy the gell out of Lethal, but Lethal countered a german suplex with a neckbreaker, and looked to get some momentum, but at that point. Sabin spring boarded off the ropes, taking Lethal down. Williams had a moment of clearing house, before connecting on both Dutt and Lethal with back to back Canadian destroyers, but when he went for one on Sabin, he ended up being reversed and fell victim to a cradle shock, Sabin retains. Winner: Chris SabinAfter the match, while Sabin was celebrating his title defense, someone could be seen watching from the side of the stage, They were in the shadows however, so nobody could see who it actually was. Sabin noticed him, and motioned for whoever it was to come get some if they wanted to, but the figure simply walked away, staying in the shadows, as Sabin stared.Austin Aries & Alex Shelley were both backstage being interviewed for their upcoming match by Jeremy Borash. They were asked how they felt about their manager, Kevin Nash leaving them for the job as Director of Authority, and if Paparazzi Productions could survive without him in their corner. They said it was disappointing that Nash left them, but they could understand why and that they would do their best to keep going strong without him. Shelley piped in that they were no longer Paparazzi Productions, because that wasn't the same without Nash. They said that tonight, they were starting off their new era with a victory over Team 3D, but they suddenly stopped. Someone walked past them, but he was facing away from the camera, so only Aries, Shelley and Borash could see who it was. A look of horror came across Shelley's face, and Aries just started repeating the world "No" and the two of them shoved Borash away and walked off.Team 3D vs. Austin Aries & Alex ShelleyShelley and Aries made their way to the ring first, looking distracted, and were followed by Team 3D, who looked smug. A few seconds later, everyone understood why. An unfamilar music hit, and out walked Paul Heyman, who had been fired from WWE literally weeks ago after the ECW December to Dismember event. Heyman was laughing as he marched down to the ring, and he settled himself in Team 3D's corner, laughing and talking back to the crowd members who were crap talking him. Aries and Shelley were very distracted, and seemed off their game, their timing was just off, and the veteran team of Ray and Devon were picking them apart with ease. They'd finally managed to get some momentum, but Heyman jumped onto the apron, causing the referee to start yelling at him, and allowed 3D to double team Aries. When Shelley tried to help, the referee came back, after Heyman had jumped down, and started admonishing him, allowing 3D to get more double teaming in. A little while later, however, Aries had managed to get the advantage over Devon. Devon however, hit a flying clothesline, and both guys were down, and crawling to their corners to make a tag. Devon was making better time, and he was just about to tag in Ray, when suddenly, Paul Heyman grabbed Ray's leg and pulled him off the ring apron, so his head bounced off of it, and he crumpled to the floor. Devon stared at Heyman in shock, and Heyman began to laugh. Aries made the tag to Shelley, who flew into the ring, and he quickly took out Devon with Sliced Bread #2 to score the pinfall! Winners: Austin Aries & Alex ShelleyAries and Shelley celebrated with Heyman as they walked up the ramp, and Heyman stood in between the two of them, raising both of their hands in the air as he laughed, and Team 3D stared on in shock.Samoa Joe vs. RhinoDamn, these two just hate each other, and this was like, well, two Rhinos going at it. The way this one was structured was well, with no structure whatsoever. The two constantly went after each other with punches, clothesline, power moves, with not one thought on defense, just wanting to hurt each other with no regards to their own safety. They came close to a DQ a few times, and when the referee got into Rhino's face about it, Rhino shoved the ref into the corner with extreme force. Before the referee could call the DQ however, Samoa Joe delivered a low blow to Rhino and started beating down on him. This left the referee with no choice but to call it a double disqualification after about 12 minutes. Double Disqualification - No ContestSamoa Joe continued to beat down on Rhino after the bell, and after a few unsuccessful attempts by the referee to stop it, finally, new Director of Authority came out onto the stage with a mic, telling Joe that after the low blow he was just being a cowardly little bitch and to stop it right now. Joe ignored him, and Nash began walking down to the ring. He climbed in, and grabbed Joe to pull him off of Rhino. Joe turned around and shoved Nash hard enough he fell on his ass. Nash scrambled back to his feet, and shoved Joe into the ropes, and when Joe ran back, Nash connected with a big boot on him, taking him down. At this point, Rhino got back up, and began to attack Joe. Nash just had an "oh, screw this" look on his face and he grabbed Rhino and nailed him with a jackknife powerbomb. Nash grabbed his mic again, and said if he tells you to stop, you stop. He said if they were going to screw up one of TNA's PPV matches, then they were going to wait to fight until it was on his terms, not theirs. Nash walked off, leaving Both Joe and Rhino laid out.TNA Championship Abyss (c) w/ James Mitchell vs. Christian Cage This was actually a very good match, and way better than most were expecting it to be. Christian really sold the fact that he was in there with a monster, and it told a story of the undersized underdog trying to snatch victory well. Christian used a mix of his veteran instincts and speed to neutralize Abyss's pure power advantage, and it was actually a back and forth match, not a one sided beating. Christian focused on the knees, and took to the top rope a lot to take Abyss off his feet. At the end of the match, the referee got taken out, and Mitchell ended up tossing Abyss his steel chain. Abyss came up behind Christian, and wrapped it around his neck, beginning to choke him. But Christian immediatley brought his leg up being him in between Abyss's legs, low blowing him. Abyss let go of the chain and fell to his knees. Christian wrapped the chain around his fist, and leveled Abyss with a punch to the head, taking him down. Mitchell got into the ring and ran at Cage, and he got a fistful of chain to the face as well, and he fell out of the ring. Christian tossed the chain outside of the ring as the ref was getting back up, and Christian hit Abyss with an unprettier, before scaling to the top rope and hitting a frog splash for insurance, and he got the pinfall and the championship! Winner Christian Cage

TNA Slammiversary 2007 Review:
Interesting start to the PPV. Glad the duo of Styles and Daniels retained the titles. They are the future of TNA in this diary and should be treated victories over veteran workers. Keeps them strong heading into other title defenses. Nice win for Bobby Roode. Hopefully he gets a Main Event push soon. I hope you use him well. Not to fond of using yourself in the diary, but handing over the power to Kevin Nash is interesting. I wish AMW got the win. james Storm and Chris Harris should be getting the next tag title shots. Them versus the duo of Daniels/Styles would be fantastic. Nice X-Division match. Glad Sabin won the contest. i wonder who the man is? PAUL HEYMAN! THE PAUL HEYMAN is in TNA. Interesting to see where this leads with Team 3D. Hopefully Heyman leads PP to some titles soon. Interesting finish between Rhino and Samoa Joe. Hopefully this leads to a cage match. Great main event between Abyss and Christian Cage. Actually, I'm quite glad that Cage won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Can't wait to see where you lead this diary.

TNA Final Resolution: Sunday 14th January 2007...Very interesting scenario, here. It'll be interesting to see you trying to put the pieces together and once again try to rebuild what was broken by the failure to sign Kurt Angle and re-sign Sting (on a side note, I hope to see Sting make a return soon, simply as a part-timer, much like the Undertaker's role in WWE). Good stuff, Cam, let's go to work. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels getting the win in a big TNA World Tag Team Championship match was nice, not bad at all. A good opening contest with the James Gang coming up short, this put Styles and Daniels over well. Up next, a fine buffer match as Bobby Roode got the win against former Team Canada member, Eric Young. Not a problem with this. Nice decision for Kevin Nash to become the new Director of Authority, I think it'll be fun to see what he does going forward. Additionally, I see him getting into at least one dramatic angle with a wrestler throughout this year in TNA. The Naturals defeating America's Most Wanted made me really happy to see, I've always been a big fan of Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens, and so I'm pleased to see them get the win over the aging and staling AMW. Up next, a solid four-way with Chris Sabin retaining the TNA X-Division Championship. I've not got a problem with this, just hoping to see Petey Williams get another opportunity in the future. Up next, a good opportunity for Austin Aries and Alex Shelley against Team 3D, and I was surprised to see them pick up the win. Woah, great appearance by Paul Heyman, I am hoping to see more on this, and more from him: imagine the clashes that Heyman and Nash could have, they could rival over the Director of Authority spot. Up next, a strange double disqualification finish between Samoa Joe and Rhino disappoints me, although I'm hoping for some more payoff come Against All Odds next month. Woah, Kevin Nash's inclusion was cool, but killed all momentum Joe and Rhino had built up, in my belief. Nash didn't need to attack any of them, in my mind. Finally, Christian Cage winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship was big, and I'm glad to see it. I could see the company becoming centred around Cage from this point forward. Overall, a solid show, and I'm hoping for more repairs in the coming weeks. Good to see you back.
