Guys who make you believe in them and look the part. Guys like HHH, Undertaker, Austin. Wrestlers who come across as genuine and make you believe in them and in what their saying. Whos the bad ass wrestlers in the modern era? Are there any? Its one of the things i miss most about current wrestling.

Perhaps you didn't watch the Rollins vs Bryan match last night?
Anywho, Punk is very confident and humble about what he says as well as Cena. I wouldn't call Cena a bad ass though. Triple H still has it as far as his character goes. Chris Jericho is and isn't at the same time. He leans a bit toward the younger audience just a bit. Orton, I personally hate watching him in the ring but he has it in him. As a face though I'm not sure. Henry, what more can I say? The dude means what he says. Its what he does. Sheamus is the last person I would bring up. He has a mean-streak in him. Again though, as a face he lacks it.
Just my opinion and a very nice topic. Hope you liked my feedback.

Brock in Lesnar! The "wow" pop he got when he came out at WM this year was great. He trained his ass off to get that beast look back!

In the 90's there were plenty of badass's. Mike Awesome, Taz, Balls Mahoney, Shane Douglas, Masato Tanaka, Goldberg, Austin, Undertaker, Kane, DX...
Alot of them turned into jokes.
Another name that has stuck as a bad ass, is Rhino.

I agree with most of the stuff you said but one thing i will say about Sheamus is that he doesnt cut a convincing promo, certainly as a face anyway. Henry was one i forgot about, i agree with you on that. Spot on about Orton and Jericho. Punk is very convincing, he might not be physically imposing but you feel when he cuts a promo it comes from his heart.

I almost wanted to mention Kane about when he first brought back the mask.

I'd say each of the Shield guys are badasses in their own right. They have the look and the intensity in their promos and they have more than backed it up in the ring. Each one brings a little something different to the table. I'd go as far as to say they're all future world champions.

Ryback still sort of is at some times. I'd say Punk used to be until his last heel run started. Probably the most bad ass characters we've got going on are Triple H, Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton.

Definitely Wade Barrett. He's a freakin' bare knuckle fighter. You don't get any more badass than that, IMO.

Hard to argue that point. Wade would be my pick also.

Gotta third Barrett. Also lesnar even though he's part time. But Barrett definitely is an old school tough guy in the fashion of regal. I'd love to see him pushed. Also Cesaro seems like a tough f.cker

Also Cesaro seems like a tough f.cker Cesaro especially lately. He's been walking to the ring like he's looking for someone to rip apart. I agree with Barrett as well, with a solid push he could really become a serious badass.

CM Punk is the man right now imo. I think Brock would be if he was around more.

There are only a few select men with the various skills and toughness it takes to be the UFC Heavyweight Champion. One of them also happens to be a WWE performer.

Different era sadly, as of right now I would say right Ryback is our badass looking forward, but you see guys in The Shield and you never know (wink wink) Ambrose/Rollins.
