What was the reasoning for Vince McMahon firing Hulk Hogan for filming his scene in Rocky III?

Hogan was working for Vince Sr. at the time. and what happened was, back then wrestlers would travel from territory to territory either on their own, or the promoter's would make deals with each other to swap talent back and forth for months at a time. this is what happened. Vince made a deal to send Hogan to,I think, Crockett Promotions. no one told Hogan this, though,so he accepted the movie offer. in fact,Hogan would've been able to fit the filming in during the lull period between his last match in the WWWF and his first in Mid-South. but Vince Sr. was very old school, and he didn't approve of one of his wrestlers doing stuff outside of wrestling, especially high-profile gigs. so he basically told Hogan if he took the movie offer,he would be fired, and his transfer to Mid-South,which was one of the hottest promotions at the time, wouldn't happen.
basically Vince Sr. telling Hogan he's a professional wrestler, not a movie star, and that he (Vince) is the boss.

I seriously had no idea that he would have had time to shoot the scene if he did go to Crockett promotions

Vince's response was if he did the movie,he was fired.

Irony. Hardly Ironic Lol especially considering that it was Vince JR that hired Hogan back because of his role in Rocky 3

Vince Sr didnt want him doing but hogan says that was the biggest turning pt in his career. I hardly believe anything says anymore, but I do believe that it was one of the biggest turning points in his career. Unlike his failed PastaMania

i know hogan was on the original card for the first starrcade as well. so this falls into that time frame. i have seen a pic of the original poster promo for starrcade 1983 once, and for the life of me can't find it again to prove my statement, LOL edit: found it!

I had forgotten(and keep forgetting)that Hogan was slated to be in Starrcade 83.
it was a great move doing Rocky III.it foreshadows the very shrewd and great businessman he would become.
