If I remember correctly from when it happened, it was like an unscripted work. The plan was for Ambrose to get in Foley's face and insult him, leading to a match that would make Ambrose a star. Unfortunately, Ambrose tried a little too hard and ended up actually offending Foley. Although, it seems like water under the bridge at this point, considering they have worked together since.

Yeah, what I remember was that the plan was for Foley to do his last program putting Ambrose over, and this was to be the start of it, with it taking place on Twitter and stuff till it came to a head on TV. But Ambrose insulted Foley's wife and children, which Foley felt was too much and called it off.

What's dotch mean? It was a work and I'm kinda glad it didn't happen. Foley isn't in the shape he was a few years ago and The Shield may have never happened.

The reason it was stopped was not because Ambrose insulted his family, it was because Mick could not wrestle. It wouldn't make much sense for Ambrose to keep feuding with Foley if he couldn't eventually wrestle Foley. So they stopped it.

Foley didn't call it off because of that, WWE wont allow him to wrestle for them anymore, I believe the match was scheduled,Foley was having tests done before anything was signed and they found that he wasn't safe to be in the ring (I think it MAY have been his hip? maybe knee, but hip rings a bell) so WWE wouldn't allow him to wrestle, which is a shame, as it would have been a great match.

Typical WF. The OP makes one type, and everyone wants to be a dotchbag. :-)
Foley comes across to me as very self-serving and get his panties in a bunch. "Yea, I'll put Edge and Orton over, BUT EVERYONE REMEMEBER IT WAS ME. THEY OWE EVERYTHING TO ME. I'm only doing this to help young stars, AS LONG AS YOU KNOW IT'S ME HELPING THE STAR. THAT'S M-I-SINGLE C-K SINGLE-F O-L-SINGLE E-Y. MICK FOLEY!"

This was scripted, Foley and Ambrose were supposed to have a match, but when they did tests on Foley they found neurological problems that could cause him severe and permanent problems if he took anymore shots to the head. However, even though this confrontation was planned, Foley did feel that Ambrose went a little too far with his comments, but the ONLY reason the angle was called off was because of Foley's health.

Would have sucked in this era anyways. If they could have a hardcore match then that is a different story. Would be like the Orton or Edge stuff where one guy is opposed to hardcore, the other isnt and then you come to find out the non hardcore guy can take a beating. Would love to have seen that but a Foley/Ambrose match with no blood would have been kind of lame.

What an angle that would've been though. Ambrose putting the blame on Foley for kids actually "trying this at home" in a sense.

I am also confused by this "Dotch"...
Interesting story though, I have never heard about it.
Although I had no idea who Ambrose was back then.

LMFAO at all the 'dotch' comments. When I read that I knew it would be the focus of the thread.

I think he means 'douche' is it really that hard to figure out?
But yes, work or not, I think Ambrose is a douche.
