So I'm going to America in less than a month and I need a new headset for the plane journey back, I'm hoping to buy a headset from somewhere like Walmart? But, has anyone got any suggestions of good headsets to buy, I looked at studio beats but I need recomendations if they are any good, I'm thinking off going with them but has anyone got any other good headsets to buy, I'm looking for music quality more than anything. Thanks guys

I find the Beats head phones too bass-y, but they do look nice and are stylish and comfortable. As well the batteries tend to drain pretty quick.
My dad has a pair of Bose and the sound quality is on par with the Beats but the bass isn't too overpowering they are both good but the Bose I find to be a little better.

Do the beats 'break' easy bro? Thanks for your answer

Sennheiser is the way to go imo. I recently bought a new set looking to upgrade from Beats. Tested them all and ended up going with HD 25-1 II's. Quite old now, but still the best on the market for me. I mainly use them for DJ'ing though.
If you literally only want them for a long plane journey though, you may be best looking at in ear buds instead. Far better for casual use. Most headphones get quite painful over long usage.

(I am gentle with them though, I only use them at home on my laptop when I'm you tubing) But I do hear some complaints about them breaking on people especially the Solo line.

I'd buy Sony studio monitors. They've lasted a long time for me and the sound is amazing.

I always have a pair of beats wireless plugged into my computer. I know it defeats the purpose, but I hate charging.

Thankfully those were the old Solos. The Solo HD's for me haven't broke and I've had them since Christmas.

Thanks for your answers guys, I'm thinking off going with the studio beats. I've recently looked at the other suggestions and am thinking whether to go for them as a 'backup'.

It's all about cost-benefit. Beats are very expensive. They're nice, too.

I bought the beats hype buddy, don't do it. The sound was great and all, until they randomly stopped making sound a week after buying them. I jut use the apple earbuds and for my big headset, Souls by Ludacris. They have nice quality and work great.

Actually I have heard great things about the "Souls." I have no experience with them, though.

At the moment, I use iPhone 5 ear phones, but they just don't stay in my ear so that's why I want something that's over the head but with good quality sound. I've heard of souls before mate

I've heard of souls before mate I'm not saying you haven't, I'm just saying that the hype of beats is a bunch of bullcrap because of Dres name. Don't get me wrong Dr. Dre is one of the best gangsta emcees of his decade. But his brand of headphones have a little too much hype that they don't deserve. I remember when I returned my beats to Best Buy the worker there told me that 70% of their beats purchased get returned within the first month of purchase and they are "literally" the worst pair of headphones you could buy there. Take it as a grain of salt or not, your choice, just a fair warning for you.

Beats are definitely the way to go. They are well worth the price, but only if you are willing to take care of them. They're not fragile by any means, but they are certainly not the sturdiest I've ever had. They are the best quality as far as bass and overall sound of any headphones I've had, though.

Beats are overpriced. If you want quality headphones for under $100 go with the AKG K240's. These are studio quality headphones that record producers, artists, and radio DJ's use because it produces the sound that the song was intended to sound like. Amazon is selling them for $80 but I got them for $60 one time. They are pretty much indestructible. Go for these and use the rest of our budget for other stuff.

I just bought Beats by dre headphones and they are a waste of money. Too bass-y is right. I think I like my $10 sony over ears better.
