Well I was watching wwe superstars on skygo (app on iPad where you can watch live TV) and well during the program, blows to head and headbutts were censored and edited out, from recent memory, this was not banned before.
Is this due to the recent killing off a 7 year old due to copying wrestling moves?
Sorry it just caught my eye, I can't upload proof at the moment though.

WHAT?! That's absolutely ludicrous.
So they'll show the wrestlers tying each other up in excruciating submission holds that are easily replicated and are as dangerous performed by anyone as they are by trained wrestlers, but they'll edit out punches to the head and headbutts? Something shown in every other show on television?
Someone needs sacking for that.

They've been editing out those stuff for a long time now. It's shown at 9am so i can see the why'd they do it.
Used to be terrible when Kozlov would have a match, his move set was basically headbutts!

Yeah, it's been like this for years. It's the water-shed. Any blows to the head are always censored, whether it be a swinging weapon or a fist.
Like on Saturday Morning Slam, the competitors were restricted from using head hitting moves.

Oh my bad guys, I never normally watch it at 9 in the morning but I can see why though. I knew about the weapons being banned, just surprised smack down ain't banning the 'head blows' as that's on at 10?

I've noticed they censor more on the catch-up shows but miss out on things on the actual SmackDown and Raw repeats. It's odd. I hate when they cut to the crowd, I prefer the pause of the screen more as it's not so distracting or obvious that the crowd just turned into a SmackDown one or something. Does anyone remember the kid in the kane mask they used to always use as a censor?

Imagine if they censored extreme rules or TLC ;D I watched a catch-up show a few weeks back and they shown a censored version of the Cena vs Axel NO DQ match. In the match Axel kept hitting Cena with a chair to the back but every time they moved the camera away it made the chair shots sound more brutal and just made everything seem far worse than it was. It was as if Cena was getting his head bashed in.

Call me a PG fanboy, but I'd love it if WWE (kayfabe, real-life, both, whatever) banned straight punches and headbutts. There's nothing more boring IMO. Plus, headbutts used to be moves that big guys with big heads used, and it made sense, they could hurt someone without hurting themself. Now everyone does headbutts constantly, and I don't buy the fact that these guys can (kayfabe) use headbutts wirthout doing damage to themself. It's fine when it's Rikishi or Mark Henry or Big Show, not believable at all when Daniel Bryan's doing it.

Like on Saturday Morning Slam, the competitors were restricted from using head hitting moves. They were at first, but then they kind of just ignored it and had normal matches and they used the crowd shots to cover it.

It's to do with shows being on before the watershed, and catch-up apps can be watched at anytime, so they also have 'excessive violence' omitted.
It's been like that forever bud.

I swear they censor any kind of hits into the steel steps - I was watching Jericho vs. Axel and was surprised by it.
