yeah that's just me though man....the Bret vs Owen feud bored the living p*ss outta me..... That's an unusual statement. Bret vs. Owen was one of the better wrestling feuds of all time. its not an unusual statement at all.it just happens to be my opinion on it.Im also not the only one who didn't enjoy this feud. I may be in the minority but Im not alone.

Just curious, why? I was just uninterested.part of it is I don't and never will buy Owen as a main eventer.to me he seemed like a totally incredible(in a bad way)threat to Bret Hart & his title. Understood. We can agree to disagree. I just have a totally different opinion on the subject because I always felt like Owen was one of the only credible opponents Bret had during that span. After he lost the belt to Yokozuna, he started a feud with Jerry Lawler. Don't get me wrong, Lawler was great in that feud and drew tremendous heat from the crowd, but from a physical perspective he was not the most intimidating specimen. In 1993, he was already 43 years old and sported a physique that looked like it was molded out of tapioca pudding. After his program with Owen, Bret was paired against Backlund. Again, I enjoyed their title match at Survivor Series, but it was the same predicament seeing Bret feuding with a guy who was over a decade removed from his physical prime. I'm not trying to discredit Backlund because he was in tremendous shape for a 45 year old, but at the end of the day, to the average fan, it looked like Bret was wrestling another "old guy." The next couple of notable feuds Bret had after Backlund saw him fighting a dentist and a pirate. Physically, Glenn Jacobs and Carl Ouellet were more credible opponents, but their stupid gimmicks hindered those feuds from becoming anything more. You need to pick apart these opponents to create a good rival for Bret. Lawler made his feud with Bret by being a huge assh*le and relentlessly taking cheap shots on the mic and in the ring. He just lacked a physical presence and technical ability. Backlund could match Bret in the mat-wrestling category, but he was even older than Lawler and lacked the mic skills that made "The King" such a despised, yet entertaining heel. Bret had some fantastic matches with Pierre and even his SummerSlam bout against Issac Yankem was decent. However, again, those characters were so silly that it was impossible to build a serious rivalry. Perhaps someone who is in their physical prime who has the ability to draw heat from the crowd with their underhanded heel antics while also being capable of putting on great matches?
