So, Kane pics surface and there was a lot of "it's terrible but I'll buy it anyway" 'type posts. I'm interested in some hard data here, or maybe an explanation. Poll for anonymous answering also in case you don't wanna look silly. Why buy what you don't even like?

I didn't buy it because Kane was a terrible choice to put with the title. Mattel got lazy and didn't want to chase signatures so we didn't get a Raven or Holly. Yes I'm still butthurt about that. They like to use the excuse "they wouldn't sell" IT'S AN EXCLUSIVE. Collectors will buy them for their collections. The belt is missing color too. This was a lazy exclusive that left a lot to be desired.

Nope, not even tempted. I bought Cactus, though. Slapped a vest on it and it looks great.

I like it, bought a few. I remember complaints about Ses Punk and how his head was too small, now that thing sells for $70+.

Yup, just ordered it from RSC along with King Macho. Why you ask? I like it.

While I'm not not one this poll is aimed at. I read many posts when it was first shown from people who didn't like it that they were buying it because they wanted the title or they were completests.
As for me with the exception of the thin chest mold do like it, but I haven't purchased it yet as there's been other things that have taken a priority over it for me.

I think this exclusive and Brock don't really warrant the £25 I'd have to pay for it. 2 VAC belts for Austin, well worth it. The Macho King with all his robes, crown and septor? That too. But for it to come with just a belt? It's like putting E20 CM Punk in an exclusive spot. It makes no sense really to me. Brock is a cool figure, but I don't think the torso or headscan work for that era, personally. I'll buy it because I think it's cool but I just couldn't do the Kane because I've got E12 and I think that's just so much better.

Nope, was hoping to get Blackman as the exclusive, or corporation bossman.

There's so much Mattel hate lately it's disgusting.

This was a lazy exclusive that left a lot to be desired. I absolutely love it when people just get angry and assume things like this. You have no idea of the circumstances. There's so much Mattel hate lately it's disgusting. You're absolutely right on the money. There are several factors that I can think of, plus probably a dozen more I can't as to why this figure came out. 1) Licencor approval. 2) Ringside wanting an item that will sell well. 3) Mattel corporate having a policy (possibly as per WWE corporate) of not independently seeking contracts with talent. 4) Demand for Kane in an attire that represents that time period. 5) Cost effectiveness. The list goes on. It's not laziness nor was it an arbitrary decision. Ringside may have a huge corner of the market consisting of collectors, but they sell on Ebay as well as Amazon, and so they are being seen by a much wider base than just us. Come Christmas when the online shopping type hear their kids ask for Kane, this one's going to hit when they search. Kane sells more than Hardcore Holly or Raven ever could because he is both a collector and kid friendly star. Now, back to the original post. Ah, Randy Snortin. Can I assume that this was the post that got him banned? Surprised that it wasn't all the cuss words that he misspelled so they would pass through the filter in other posts. I don't know to what purpose this thread ever had. "I want to stimulate conversation. By being holier than thou. Hey, wait, stop stimulating conversation, you don't have the same opinion as me!" The answer is abundantly clear. 1) Some people love belts. 2) Some people are completionists. 3) RSC exclusives usually go up in value tremendously, even the old Jakks ones are still crazy expensive online. 4) Some people are Kane collectors. 5) Some people are willing to accept shortcomings because this is likely the only Mattel figure we'll get of this attire. 6) Some people held to their principle and didn't buy it. 7) Some people got it as gifts. 8) Some people genuinely liked or loved it. That's it. That covers it all.

I think Randy Snortin was that Versace SkiMask guy who got banned before. Snortin seemed to pop up right when that guy got banned.

Nope I passed on it too. I would've bought it if the mask was correct.
