I was trying to check the ratings from last week's show. Then, I come across this data. There's a chart, showing the ratings flow chart not only for this year, but for 2011 and 2012. Here's the chart:
Interesting facts:
- Impact Wrestling averaged a 1.199 rating for the first 6 months of 2011
- Impact Wrestling averaged a 1.047 rating for the first 6 months of 2012
- Impact Wrestling averaged a 1.011 rating for the first 6 months of 2013
- The highest rating TNA scored in the first 6 months of 2011 is a 1.36. The lowest being a 1.01
- The highest rating TNA scored in the first 6 months of 2012 is a 1.19. The lowest being a 0.85
- The highest rating TNA scored in the first 6 months of 2013 is a 1.17. The lowest being a 0.77
- VInce Russo held the head of creative position for the first 8 weeks of 2012 but was demoted in late 2011 as Bruce Prichard took over the head of creative role.
- Bruce Prichard is the first ever non-shareholder employee to hold both the talent and creative director roles in TNA at the same time.
- Not counting Dixie Carter, Jerry and Jeff Jarrett were the only two shareholders to previously hold control of both the talent and creative end of the company at the same time.
- Bruce Prichard held the TNA creative position for only 21 months. In those 21 months, TNA had the lowest ratings average in nearly 7 years
- The last 6 months of 2012 contained some of the lowest ratings in the last 6 years of Impact Wrestling.
- The first 6 months of TNA programming in 2013 already has a lower than average rating for all of 2012.
- At the current rate, Impact Wrestling is expected to have a year to year average rating of less than a 1.0
Now from I saw in these ratings were, TNA's viewerships kept dropping between the highest and lowest ratings. In 2011, their highest ratings in the first six months was a 1.36, which for TNA was a great ratings (sadly), and then it dropped to a 1.19 in 2012 and dropped lower to a 1.17 in 2013. 1.17, their highest ratings this year in the first six months. The lowest ratings was more interesting for me. In 2011, their lowest in the first six months was a 1.01, which for TNA would be a great rating this year (again, very sadly). Then, their lowest rating dropped to a 0.85 in 2012 in the first six months (Aces and 0.8s, lol), then dropped again with the lowest rating in 2013 was a 0.77 (lower than Aces and 0.8s). So I guess as the show in product was "improving", their viewership has been dropping. Now I don't wanna hear the usual excuse of "Oh, there was this show on, and there was this other show on that night and there was this one game on, blah, blah blah" If TNA's product has improved, then their viewership would risen instead of lowered in the last two-three years. Now remember when the majority of the bad product was blamed on Russo? Well in mid-2011, Russo was demoted and soon left TNA and Prichard took over and held the position for 21 months. As the data fact, FACT, said, TNA had their lowest ratings average in nearly 7 years since he took over. I put all the data seen on the website. The link is even there. Just found these facts interesting and wanted to share with everyone here.
