Hey guy. I was kind of considering starting up a podcast with a friend of mine and had some questions.
Mainly, what kind of equipment should I have? I already have Garage Band on my computer so I can record but what should I look for in mics and an inexpensive audio mixer.
Also does anyone have any tips on the technical aspects of doing it?
I was part of a radio show in college but someone else ran the board so I don't know much about it.

Hey man,
Never podcasted but I'm doing sound production, so I'm coming at this from a sound quality point of view. I'd say go for either Behringer or Shure Mics. A couple of SM57's by Shure would be brilliant, they'll run you like $70 each but they are extremely versatile so would be perfect. Not sure about a mixer, but you could get away with not having one if you make sure you use proper amounts of compression and a little reverb in Garage Band (although you'd need another audio interface if you don't do this, I'd recommend an Alesis io2). You can always set the levels of each mic in the software before you bounce it so you know that it won't clip at all. I'd also say a REALLY important thing would be pop shields. These will stop any sharp pops when pronouncing P's and B's that will help the production values a lot.
Hope this helped. Good luck man.
