OK. Full disclosure. I did not make this but stumbled across it on the you tubes. I am pretty sure that this might be the 1st wrestling stop motion animation ever made. Dates to 1986 and features LJN figures, customized LJN ring, and a custom made belt. It seems to be filmed on an old 8mm camera. And yes it has all the fluidity and crispness that you would expect from a 1986 stop motion wrestling film using LJN figures with 0 points of articulation to animate. Gotta love the nostalgia.
Lock if you must (since i admit I did not make this) but i thought folks would like to see this relic. Couldn't resist. This must have been cutting edge for someone to do on their own in 86.
Cut to 218 if you are only interested in the wrestling segment.

With the nostalgia and vintage significance behind this film, I can most definitely give articulation a pass. To be honest, I was surprised that the creator of the animation had a basic grasp of smoothness and fluidity, like the fall on the mat from Hulk Hogan and the suplex looked incredible for LJN figures that's for sure. This was very entertaining to watch so thanks for posting and be sure to drop some of your work here sometime, I'd be great to see what conditions you can perform at. As an animator, I can really appreciate what was done here.

That animation is a year older than my sister. Holy sh*t.
And I thought the first wrestling animators were in the mid-late 1990's, welp now we pretty much know who the creator of our hobby is now. Amazing to think in the time span of 27 years the first wrestling animation went from a crappy home movie to animations that are on par with TV Shows like Robot Chicken.

Kick ass find Naparo! The animation quality is actually really good, especially for when it was made. This guy probably has no idea there is a little community of animators all making wrestling animations just like he did back in the day. Such a cool video!

Hi! can some one send me the link? Videos never work when they're put onto threads on my account for some reason, I'd love to see it. Thanks.

considering the limited amount (zero amount) of articulation, that was really nice. Id love to find this guy and see what he can do with some elites Vintage Stop motion! lol

Man! Even though this guy's figures had no articulation he is better than some of the beginners we now have. I agree with JWC someone should give this guy some elite figures to animate with. I bet he'd be better than a lot people in the wrestling animation world

Wow, just amazing to see that our hobby was going on even back in the 80's! The animation is very good for using those big bendy guys. I have a few and could not imagine animating with them. This guy probably has no idea what he started...

That was pretty amazing. It's crazy that Vince allowed JYD to no sell Hogan's leg drop like that!
