ok so what do you think?
who do you think Vince really missed an opportunity with in the last decade or so?
heres my list....
Mark Jindrak & Sean O Haire.
when Orton & Batista left Evolution in 2004 & 2005 respectively the slots in Evolution should have ben filled by some up & comers.namely the two above guys.Jindrak should have replaced Orton straight away and O Haire should have been brought back to replace Batista-but it wasnt to be.....

man this trio were over as hell as heels.as tag champs a great division could have been built around them......Mexicools,Dudleys,FBI,London & Kendrick,Highlanders,Hardys and Cryme Tyme were all around at the time(or would be soon).also who knows how the two would have developed if they had been left together a touch longer?he really missed out here the tag scene could have been on fire with MNM as the despicable heel champs.
Vince seems to forget that every boom period was helped by AWESOME Tag Teams.....
Muhammad Hassan
Jesus....this guy had such incredible heat AND the ability to back it up in ring.they took it to far of course......and he had to be taken off TV.if only they hadnt got so carried away....this character had serious mileage.so unfair on the dude that played him.my nephew and Godson used to have him as the leader of an anti American faction in their fed called D.N.A(Defiantly NOT American)his action figure got a LOT of play as lead bad guy.
MVP.
the most over heel for a long period on SD! and just oozed charisma in the gimmick he was born for.he made some smart remarks and punkd the drug testing guy and he was put on a year long losing streak and utterly destroyed.why wasnt he hammered wih fines backstage whilst the character was so hot?he was easily WHC material when he droped the US title after a run that restored its prestige.so counterproductive for WWE.

I never really saw too much in Jindrak and O'Haire, but it would've been cool to see these guys replace Orton and Batista. MNM was fantastic and if it wasn't for Joey's personal demons they might have done more together. It really sucks that pure coincidence and a horrible tragedy ruined Hassan. The guy was really good in the ring and he had some massive heat. MVP was lost when they had him lose to Kizarny and turn face. The guy was a natural heel and his US Title run was fantastic.
Obviously McIntyre should be included on this list. Reasons have been splattered anywhere and everywhere about him.
Cryme Tyme was really over and I felt they should've gotten at least one run with the belts.
Evan Bourne could've had something more, I remember in June 2010 they had him main event Raw along with Cena and he went over Jericho at Fatal 4-Way...I thought they'd go somewhere with him but nothing surfaced.
Alex Riley had talent, charisma and he was over. They had him working nicely up until NoC 2011 then he disappeared.
Tyson Kidd comes to mind too, hopefully Punk's comment on him back in January will fuel a push for him when his knee heals up.
Speaking of Joey Mercury, the Straight Edge Society as a whole should've been booked better. Gallows and Mercury could've dethroned the Harts, and Punk should've been World Champion instead of being squashed by Big Show.
Ted DiBiase is the last guy I'll talk about now. He had the look and the ability, he just needed a little something to separate him from his dad.

Evan Bourne - Great Technician and High Flyer. An innovator of sorts. Not so great on the mic however.
Muhamad Hassan- Great heel and had some major heat with the US fans.

How is McIntyre not included on this list? its simple enough really....its because its MY list based on MY opinions.feel free to include him on YOUR list,yknow?...if your gonna participate that is. personally I have seen very little in McIntyre since the beginning that makes him stand out.but loads of guys have...and thats cool.I dfo dont think he deserves to be stuck with Slater and Mahal.he is much better than that...... about 2 years ago Vince should have put Barrett,McIntyre,Layla and Ryan in a UK faction with Regal as their manager.couldnt have been any worse than what was done with them since.plus they could have got some traction as an anti U.S. group. |

what sticks in my craw is all the crap that Orton pulled,including but not limited to drugs,trashing hotel rooms,and sexually harrassing women.but only got fined and a talking to by Vince. MVP makes one mistake and was destroyed. a prime example of it being not what you do,but who you know.

A more recent example is Antonio Cesaro. He was doing pretty well as US Champ, and had the first meaningful feud over the title in ages with Miz, but after that feud ended he spent months losing to Randy Orton, Ryback, and Kofi Kingston. Hopefully the pairing with Zeb works out. OH AND DON'T GET ME  ING STARTED ON RYBACK. |

Test - Such a talented guy.
Hardcore Holly - Should have been a WWECW Champion.
Tensai - Packaged with Johnny Ace as his mouthpiece/manager he could have got the heat he needed.
Tatanka - What the hell were they thinking booking him in a losing streak?
Mr America - I wish this had run longer, I really loved this gimmick.
Joey Mercury - Always thought he was better than Nitro, that eye injury ruined his momentum though.
Matt Hardy - He was one of the best on the SD roster around 2004.
Christian - Time and time again, they've failed to use him to his full potential.
Billy Gunn - Even when he was with Torrie he was over.

Rob Conway for starters.
The guy had 'it' as far as I was concerned. He could wrestle, he had a good look, and he got over as a heel. After La Resistance split and they gave him that "Buff Bagwell" gimmick, I thought "this could work" and it started out to. Then they just dropped the ball with him.
Matt Hardy
Yes, Matt was a Tag Champion many times, European Champion, and ECW Champion, and of course the US Champion. But I felt that came too late for him. Matt should have been US Champion in 2003. Matt should have been the one to take the belt off Eddie Guerrero. Matt, in 2003 was ready to break out and be a star on Smackdown, and then they put him back to Raw, and had him be a jobber until the whole Kane/Lita feud thing started in the summer of 2004.
Kurt Angle
Yes, that is correct. I felt that the Kurt Angle we seen in 2006 a part of ECW was the Kurt Angle that should have happened in 2003 in the feud with Lesnar. I think that once he shaved his head and aligned up with Heyman in early 2003 that he should have been the ultimate bad ass character. But he was still the "you suck" Kurt then, and he was definitely growing past that stage.
Justin Garbriel
He could easily be the AJ Styles of the WWE, and they do nothing with him. Justin is more suited for TNA, where he could be the X-Division Champion possibly.
Ryback
A year ago the guy was getting chants of "Feed Me More" and was getting over like crazy. The fans chose Ryback to be 'their' guy and what does Vince do?? Turns him heel and Ryback loses all momentum and isn't over at all in any way. Nice going, Vince. Imagine if he did that with Austin in 97??
Billy Gunn
Billy had 'it' and then some. He was tall, muscular, popular, over like hell, and could bounce around that ring like a cruiser weight. But from injuries, to drugs, to bad behavior, he just wasn't trusted in that top spot. It's too bad too. Cause there was a time there in late 1998 that nobody in the WWE was better than Billy Gunn.
Test
Test, like Billy, had the look, big, muscular, athletic, and could fly in the air. He was what you get when Kevin Nash and Shawn Michaels have a child together. You get Test. Test could have been a WWE Champion. Again though, it was during an era where you had Austin, Rock, Kane, Taker, Foley, Angle, and of course Triple H.
But that's just a few guys. I am sure that many more could be talked about for this kind of topic.

I will weigh in on Ryback too.
he was over-no two ways about it.then they job him to the useless Henry at WM in a manner that makes him look totally idiotic.I mean.....the crowd went insane when he hoisted Henry up for the shellshock.they would have loved to seen Ryback execute that and win the match...then he gets pinned.he then hoists Henry for the shellshock after the match and nobody cares....then they turn him heel....nad have him whine about his situation.are we meant to buy a whiner as a threat to Superjohnny?and where exactly are they going with the f*cking walking away from matches crape?what on Earth is the endgame here?
secondly Gabriel & the crew.WWE need to reinstitute the cruiserweight/LHW belt ASAP and put Gabriel,Kidd,Sin Cara,Hunico,Tatsu and god knows how many others to work.
1)select one to be "the guy".and work with this dude on his personality and promos.ideally "the guy" should be a heel-IMO it should be Fandango.he can move on up later.guy can work this style and is a heat magnet.
2)through the tourney and contendership make it seem like this title MATTERS.
3)when its defended on SD! it must be the ME.
4)through regular outings showcasing what these dudes are capable of they WILL get over.
5)use WWEs business relationship with whoever in Japan to build up "their guy".the favor can be returned in Japan
just a few things I have thought of.

I'm going to go with a controversial one - Goldberg.
he came into the WWE red hot,and with a main-eventing feud with the Rock....after that? not much. they built him all summer to be the one to take Triple H's World Championship at SummerSlam...then they don't do that,even though Triple H was injured at the time! yeah,he wins it a month later at a blow off PPV,but only holds it for 3 months until losing it...to Triple H. his whole brief WHC reign was overshadowed by Triple H. then they start the build to Mania XX,in a match that should've been a power and brutal classic - Goldberg vs Lesner. but Vinnie Mac gets pissed because Goldberg doesn't want to sign a contract extension,and Lesner basically decides to quit after the match. so they intentionally book a crap match hoping to get the audience pissed at both guys! way to be a businessman and "give the people what they want" Vince!
other than his debut and 1st month there,Goldberg's whole year-long stint in WWE was mismanaged,and didn't use him to the fullest potential possible,and basically all because of 2 of the biggest ego's behind the scenes...

I agree with MVP he was ing awesome as a heel and I think they ed up big time by not having him team up with Floyd Maywether and them both be heels. Ryback I really cannot get over how they screwed that up. To me it would have made more sense for him to destroy john cena and for teh WWE title and then all challengers for a few months you then have Super Cena come back to get his revenge. I think punting Ryback over this way would have made Cena even stronger in the long run |

In terms of wasting money, it's fair to say Vince missed the boat by NOT actively pursuing Sting. That could have been top-dollar draws throughout the mid-2000s in programs with HHH, Undertaker, or any of the other top names.
Can't blame Sting though, seeing how the other WCW alumni were treated. Booker T notwithstanding, DDP and Goldberg getting treated the way they did wouldn't have made me eager to go to WWE if I were Sting.
