I haven't always been the biggest AFI fan. One of my good friends has been obsessed with them for years, and they're finally growing on me. This new song, '17 Crimes' is in awesome in my opinion. I figured I'd share with the WF community, get a conversation going. Are you a fan? Thoughts on the new stuff? Another new one, much heavier, "I Hope You Suffer." The new album 'Burials' drops in October.

I've been a huge AFI fan since 2005, and I'm liking the new tracks. Nothing can top their late 90's/early 00's stuff for me, but I'm definitely still looking forward to the new album.

Both were very good. I haven't listened to a lot of their stuff but I'll definitely check out this album.

I really dig "I Hope You Suffer". Their older stuff was immense.

Sounds a lot better than Crash Love and they're touring with Touche Amore in the fall, stoked.

The thing about 'Crash Love', though the album maybe wasn't as amazing as others, the b-sides were incredible. Seriously, "Fainting Spells", "We've Got The Knife", "Where We Used To Play" and "100 Words" are all frankly, better than like 80% of 'Crash Love'. If anyone can, go check them out, it'l change your opinion of CL for sure.

I can understand that man, meh I don't know, Crash Love was the first AFI album I listened to and got into so I think it'll always have some sort of nostalgia holding for me.

I wish Davey & Jade would stop their side-project and solely focus on A.F.I...and go back to their DIY & gritty punk sound. Their last few albums are over-produced and I'm not a big fan of the electronic accents they've been throwing in their music.

He's described 'Burials' as "extremely layered, very dark with lots going on, compared to the very simple and forwardness of Crash Love."

This stuff sounds better than anything I have heard from them since Art of Drowning. I didn't really care for the last 3 albums. I am going to go listen to "answer that..." now

'Black Sails in the Sunset' & 'The Art of Drowning' were very similar. I want them to go back to their punk DIY sound.

I haven't listened to them in some time, I think the last album I heard was Sing The Sorrow and I loved that album. I really need to get more stuff by them, I like the two songs you posted. I'll check the album out when it drops

I haven't been this interested in a new release from any band in a long time. I Hope You Suffer is a return-to-form for them, in my opinion, and sold me the album on the very first listen.
